Blanche from Corry!!!
Don't everyone else reckon shes well funny in Corry?/?/, and remember at Amys christening when Roy went up to say his poem she said "I hardly noticed him without his nylon handbag" proper funny, they should bring her more into the soap with better storylines because she seems in the background to much, just moaning all time, but funny as that is, Corry needs life into again, because all the UK soaps are quite cr@p lately to be fair!! What does anyone else think?

Blanche is pure genius! Lol, I love her sarky comments, herself and Tracy have pretty much saved the Barlow family from dull storylines. Blanche's one-liners in the run-up to the christening were great. Like when she was wondering (out-loud) if Hayley would count as a second godfather to Amy. I agree though, she hasn't had a storyline to herself since the whole Wally bannister plot.

I think tracy's hilarious. I know everyone hates her but I say lay off! Oh, and Eileen Grimshaw is usually really funny too, shame she hasn't much of a role at the moment.
I loved Blanche's lecture to Deirdre back when she was kicked out of the Barlow's family home. It was absolutely comical. |

Even though she isn't a main character at the moment, she still pops up and lightens the mood, for instance the other day in the corner shop moaning at Sunita.
She is believable though, as I know a few 'moaning old people' types. I love her sarcasm and humour

Lol, most "moaning old people" I know lack any sense of humour and since sarcasm is the highest form of intelligence (so they say..) they're not familiar with that either!

Karen and Steve were always hilarious. (the famous couch..) During the whole Tracy's baby scenario though, Karen became less entertaining. Hopefully her taking a shine to Dev's apartment and nagging (uh) Steve about buying a more up-market gaff will bring back the lippy side of Karen again.

Yeah, I love Blanche! lol
I especially loved when she said about Hayley and if she would count as a second godfather, she really makes me laugh! I would also like to see her get her own storyline. I think she's a great actor. |

Tracy's Hayley-bashing is hilarious too though. I remember Roy said something along the lines of "Is it a boy or girl I wonder.." about the baby before it was born. And Tracy replies "You must spend half your life wondering that." It was so funny..

I agree that Blanche is funny but in real life her vicious comments would surely mean that someone would deck her.

In real life pretty much half the cast would have been decked at some stage. Lol, in general though the best thing about Blanche's character is that she saves her nastiest comments for behind people's backs.

She looks a lot like an old teacher I had at primary school, but her general attitude was nothing at all like Blanche's.
Yes she is very funny, really lightens the mood up. Much better tha dreary Deidre. |

Ah yeh Blanche is class, she is so funny. She's the image of one of the tutors at my college an kind of goes on like her, but Blanche is funnier. I loved her slagging off Ken when he was looking after Amy the other day. And her arguments with Dreary are always good.

Blanche is a great character – a lot of the great comedy moment are in the scenes she appears in.
Deridre was much better in thr 1970s/1980s episodes than she is now. |

Woo! Go Blanche! The best Blanche moment was on Christmas Day a few years ago when she was on at Deirdre about the turkey, 'This turkey's dry enough to choke a camel'.

No! I still think Tracy's seriously funny. I mean when you compare to former Tracy actresses she's definitely a blessing because most of those formerly cast in that role would've been lucky to be described as being "one dimensional".
Omg! The Christmas dinner comment was brilliant! I forgot that one! |

On the subject of Blanche, Maggie Jones is fabulous & usually gets the best lines in any episode that she is in. It's a pity that they killed off Edna Miller (Rovers cleaner when Duggie had the pub who was always moaning) as her & Blanche would have made a great double act

Lol, I still don't agree about Kate Ford. I thought her scenes with Steve McDonald, especially how she manipulated him into coming to the hospital were well acted. As for the other so called "superior" villains, you can't possibly say you think Cilla's actress is so fantastic when we've seen so little of her capabilities. I mean, there's only ever been the underhanded, common selfish lying cow, it's not like she's ever been tested under any other circumstances or had to show any real emotion. It's far too early to judge how talented she really is.
Oh yeah.. and just to repeat what I've already said: Blanche rocks. : ) |
