Hi and Good Evening.

I just wondered how many people wore make up every day?

I was talking to my friend earlier and neither of us wear make up. We sometimes put mascara on if we are going to a wedding or something but on a daily basis we don't wear it. The last time I put make up on was 4 years ago

We decided that it was the fault of our Mums, my Mum never ever wears make up - not even if she is going to a wedding and my friend's Mum doesn't wear it either.

On the few occasions I have worn make-up I have felt like my face is dirty and have washed it off.

I have sorta rosy cheeks which I hated when I was younger but now I am getting on a bit, I think it's probably a blessing.

So, do you wear make-up? Do you feel you need to? My husband doesn't like it if I wear make up, he says I look weird - cheeky hound.

Actually, when I think about it - I spend no time a day grooming, I don't do my hair, well I brush it and that's it, and I don't use face creams or anything like that, I wash my face with soap and water.

Oh, and if you were like me would you change your ways for your partner? or if someone commented about it?

I never wear make up, I just don't like it and don't really see the point of it.

I only wear make up if I'm going out and only lipgloss and subtle eye makeup it makes me feel I've made an effort. Never wear foundation though.

Yes - lots of makeup that you can barely see once it's on.

Rarely and even then just a bronzer and lipstick and eyeliner. Don't own foundation or eye shadow anyway!
I do use creams and moisturizers tho and am much more bothered about my hair color and highlites and style...not sure why

I am wondering if, now that I am getting older I should be taking more care of myself and stuff. I am blessed with great skin I have to say but I don't enhance and all that.

Having had no make up putting on experience when I try to do that, I still look like a clown

I think my eyes could be doing with a wee bit of something, I have used anusol in the past to hide the bags, it works a treat but it's the idea really.

I wear make up when I feel like it which is hardly ever for the past few months...I rarely wear foundation, I have some only if I'm having one of those days. I tend to wear a lot of eye make up when I do wear it.

I don't wear it around the house, or if I'm just going shopping with my mother, but I always wear it to college and I've never gone on a night/day out without it.

Foundation, blusher, highlighter, eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick or gloss, and eyeliner at night.

It's my mask to the world

When I worked and went to uni I always wore makeup. I adore mascara, to the point where I bought that instead of food

I wear make-up and do my hair every day, even if I'm staying in the house. Foundation, concealer, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara - the only thing I leave bare is my lips. It's just a routine for me, it makes me feel so much more confidant and I enjoy applying it so it isn't like a chore. I used to straighten my hair every day which took me at least half an hour and was a real pain but now I only straighten my fringe and I've been told I look better now anyway

I do my paper round before I've done my hair or make-up though, because I go out at 6.30 at week days so I know not many people will see me.

I wear full make-up everyday. Foundation, powder, bronzer, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick and lipgloss. Sounds like a lot but it doesn't really look it once its on, and I wear quite natural shades anyway.

Reasons for wearing it are 1) I've got quite bad skin - a few spots and some old acne scarring, so I look a lot better with foundation; 2) I think I look a lot prettier with make-up, as long as you know how to apply it right you can learn to accentuate/hide certain features to look your best; and 3) I just find it fun to apply make-up, its kind of a hobby, and I'm always reading make-up blogs in my spare time.

And in answer to your other question, no I wouldn't change my make-up routine for a partner. I think its fair enough if your partner says they prefer you without make-up. But if I had a boyfriend who actually tried to stop me from wearing make-up I wouldn't be happy. My friends boyfriend is like that and I think its horrible and really controlling. I wear quite natural, inoffensive make-up anyway, and its something that improves my confidence, so if a boyfriend told me not to wear it anymore I'd just tell him to get lost.

Oh and by the way I do kind of envy you, and some of my other friends, for being confident enough to not wear make-up. As much as I think make-up is generally a good thing, I think the more you wear it, the less able you are to go without it.

I mostly do wear makeup, not even because I'm self-concsious or anything, I just think it's a very girly thing and seeing as I'm a very girly girl, me and my friends were experimenting with pink lipgloss and glittery mascara at 14, and I read a lot of glossies, so I suppose I've come to the conclusion makeup is something every woman indulges in. I think it's a great way to make you feel a little bit glamourous every day.

Every day I wear powder foundation, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and a little blusher. Only takes 10 minutes tops and makes a lot of difference. When going out for the night I'll make more of an effort, especially with eye make-up. I wouldn't feel confident facing the world with no make-up on!

To be honest, the reason I started this thread was because a relation gave me make up as a gift and as they know I don't wear it, I thought they were trying to tell me something. They have told me in the past that I am 'hiding my light under a bushel', but maybe I like my light under a bushel.

My husband thinks I look too different with make up on and prefers me without it, and I don't really like wearing it, but maybe it's cause I am not used to it. People have said they don't feel confident without make up, I don't feel confident with make up on.

In the past I have used Clarins stuff and I suppose that felt ok, this make up that was given to me is made by 'Fresh' and it looks to good to waste.

I use a whole lot of make up to give the natural just been running to the flower fields looks. I think in all jobs that i had, there was an unwritten and in some case written rule that women had to use make up. So i just got used to it. And i agree, it shows people take care of themselfs and made an effort to be presentable to clients. A woman always but always looks better with make-up than without.

There is nothing that i hate the most when men say they prefer women without make-up,it has something controlling about it, but then compliment the likes of Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie for their "natural" looks, even when they are in full party make-up.

I used to wear makup every day when i was younger. Id spend hours in front of the mirror in the morning doing my hair and makeup, even if i wasn't going to leave the house. Now i tend to not wear it as often or as much. Ill apply my full face when im working behind the bar of a weekend and ill wear a little when im at work in my full time job. Any other time i tend to let my skin breathe.

I saw a picture of Kylie the other day where she wasn't wearing make up (or was she) and she looked gorgeous.

I also saw a picture of Kylie wearing make up and she looked gorgeous so i suppose this post doesn't really help.

I don't wear makeup under any occasion.

And that's nobody's "fault" because there's nothing wrong with that.

I wear it most days just to enhance things. I normally wear foundation, concealer, mascara and eyeshadow. I too have acne scarred skin so I cover this up to give me more confidence.

I kind of wish I didn't but I wear a full face of makeup everyday, foundation, mascara, eyeshadow, eye liner and lip gloss/stick. But I think it's because I got into makeup at a very young age, and I just love to experiment with it so it's become part of my daily life. But at 18, I kind of wish I could have days when I could not wear any make-up, but I just feel awful if I don't.

Same goes for me!

For the OP - there's video's on youtube on how to apply various types of make up (concealor, eye make up etc). I would say go and see someone on a make up counter but they go way overboard and will probably talk you into buying something.

I wear make up 6 out of 7 days a week if not the full 7.

I'm really paranoid about my skin, to other people it probably looks okay, but I see all the pores, the few spots seem to cover my skin and I have the worst dark circles ever round my eyes.

I wear: foundation, pressed powder x2, 2 cover ups, highlighters, eye liner and mascara.
