Dane Bowers duet with Victoria Beckham
Been watching Celeb BB which Dane's in so thought I'd listen to some of his music again and I remember his song "Out of Your Mind" with Posh
Listening to it now is it really that bad? I mean yes her voice is massively tampered with but it kinda works with the whole futuristic video and garagey song Whatcha think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tcAnoKKZ2M |

I remember this. I'll probably get slated for saying this, but her voice isn't any worse than any of the other spice girls, bar possibly mel c. They just had more success, better songs (not imo, but still)

It's funny how she got slaughtered for her voice in this song being too autotuned, now it's the norm with every popstar.

Awful record. I remember her dragging Dane Bowers around the country the week it was released in a desperate bid to beat Spiller's far superior 'Groovejet' to the number one slot.
For once, the UK public chose quality over hype. |

I've always thought this was a much better song than it had any right to be! The spoken bit at the end is cheesy though.

I liked this song at the time. But listening to the above link it sounds like its been remixed from the original? The original as I recall went at a slower pace?

I remember so clearly the famous chart battle for no.1 between that and Spiller's Groovejet, I was 11 at the time and I was so desperate for Spiller to win, and when it was announced on Radio 1 that Spiller had done it I jumped around like a maniac because I was so pleased

I remember the press calling it "Posh versus Posher".

For once, the UK public chose quality over hype. She was utterly shameless that week. It's a real shame, because it was a decent garage tune, but I'm glad it didn't get to number 1, just for her desperate push to get it there. |

No, they were rubbish records. They sounded like marketing men's ideas of what was popular. You didn't believe for one momnet that Posh had any kind of artistic vision, she just tried to follow a trend.

I loved it - got a signed copy from when they did a signing in Cardiff! Queued for bloody ages, and there was nothing personal about it. Some celebs chat for a few seconds and actually acknowledge you by smiling - said CD was slung over the table for her and Dane to sign - he looked happy enough, whilst she was wearing her one look of face like a slapped arse!

I always really liked this song, it's brilliantly produced and very catchy. I love the distorted autotune effect on voices as well, Victoria Beckham's voice is fine for this song.

I like this song. Though i do remember the desperation not only was Dane dragged about, David and Brooklyn were forced to make appearanced also
.Awful...but the song i thought was a lot better than what some of the spice girls released. Though the Spiller song was and still is a lot better. |

I'm certainly no fan of Victoria Beckham, but I thought it was a pretty decent garage-flavoured pop song. And as Dane Bowers pointed out recently, most of the auto-tuned vocals that people criticised were his, not Victoria's.

Compared to most of the solo output of the other Spice Girls, it's really not that bad.
