Are comfortable shoes ugly?
I went to Clarks and brought a pair of shoes which are very comfortable, especially I need these because I am a training at hospital and always on my feet. In the past I chose style over comfort.
I was hesitant about buying the shoes because they looked ugly and granny like IMO. But my mum influenced me to buy them. ![]() They were expensive too like £55. I am still annoyed and why can't their be any shoes that look nice but are comfortable as well. That is what I was looking for. ![]() People have to said to me the comfortable shoes are usually the ugly ones. And the ones that look great are the ones that hurt your feet the most! |

When I was small I was always made to wear shoes that I hated, school shoes, comfortable.
Now my one fetish is shoes, the higher the heel the better, I don't even possess a pair of flat shoes. I've never had a corn in my life. |

as the p[ain index rises, so does the level a how fashionable they are
unless you get some shoes that actually permanently alter the shape of your foot, you are way uncool |

Comfortable shoes do tend to look ugly, but spending most of my time on my feet, I really don't care. If your feet hurt it shows on your face, and that's not an especially good look either I've found.

You can get comfortable attractive shoes, this is a stupid wives tale that you can't, maybe it's just a bad experience you had, but yes there are nice, comfortable shoes, such as Uggs...there are loads!

You've made the mistake of going for the name. You think Clarks is sensible, but it doesn't mean they're right for you.
You need to shop around, go into shops and try loaaads on. I've bought many expensive shoes, but for me, cheapo New Look seem to fit the best. |

I don't think shoes have to be flat, or ugly, to be comfortable.
I have some super-high heels that are more comfy than some of the flat shoes I own. |

If your primary directive when buying footwear is comfort, then you are probably at an age where what they look like doesnt matter

What are you allowed to wear? In my last job I was on my feet for 10-12 hours a day (often for several hours at a time), so I just bought all-black Sketchers and wore those. Nobody ever said anything about them being unsuitable. Nike also do some great all-black trainers (suitable for males and females).

The current shoes in Clarks are really ugly but last year I got a pair of fabulous mary janes in the sale, they have almost a three inch heel and I can wear them all day.

Well I walk around and go to work in London always with flat boots. Biker boots, riding boots and i think they are really pretty and comfortable. Flat, comfortable shoes do not have at all to be ugly, a nice pair of ballerinas or other dance shoes with a bit of heel are a nice alternative when the weather in nicer.
When i was younger i walked on heels everywhere, I would even go to Uni on heels, but now I only wear them in special occasions. |

I think it seems to be so because there isn't a market for uncomfortable ugly shoes. So all ugly shoes are comfy, but you have to shop around to find ones that look good and are comfy too.
