Fake Leather Jackets
I'm looking for a fake/non leather/vegan/whatever leather jacket. I know there are some online but does anyone know where I could get one on the high street?
Thanks. |

I would say invest in a real leather one, because I had a fake one a few years back and one time it was snowing and the jacket ended up with all weird marks and patches on it..maybe that was just my bad experience.

Leather ones do tend to last better but of course if the OP a veggie/vegan then she'll not want to wear the real stuff (not that I'm saying you are OP)

There are some really good 'pleather' jackets in the high street. My housemate bought one in BhS a couple of months ago and I saw a great biker style in Tesco a few weeks ago for very little money.

H&M probably have some. I remember Natalie Portman was modelling one of theirs a year or 2 ago and it looked pretty good.

I've just bought a nice one from New Look. Very soft faux leather that definitely looks like the real thing, and only £28 in a promotional offer instore and now £25 online.

My daughter got a great jacket from Red Herring at Debenhams. It really does look and feel like leather, and she's had loads of compliments when wearing it.

Perhaps the reason for wanting a non leather jacket is nothing to do with having to 'inveset' a larger sum of money, but with the morals behind wearing something made from the skin of an animal which has been killed in order to make the item of clothing.
I have been vegetarian for over 25 years and do not own a leather jacket. |

Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I'll try New Look. My reason for wanting a fake one is that I'm vegetarian. I just think it's terribly hypocritical of me to not eat any meat but walk around with a leather jacket, but I do think they look nice.

![]() I'm glad that there is so much choice, more than I had thought.
