Jason Gardiner is really rude and ought to learn some manners. His remark about Dr. Hilary Jones being decrepid is totally unacceptable. Who the hell does he think he is. Gardiner's behaviour showed himself up as a really spiteful, nasty little Queen. Well at least Dr. Jones has a brain, is charming and qualified and I have yet to see JG put on ice skates. How can he, in all honesty, comment on performance when he can't even skate. He showed himself up for the fool he is when he was arguing the toss with a champion skater. He is absolutely ludicrous and shows how little he knows every time he opens his mouth.

You can be a "baddie" without resorting to nasty, personal remarks. It is the word "decrepid" I found offensive. Most of the time I am so chilled and laid back in the wardrobe I am in Narnia - but blatant rudeness is not funny especially when it is coming out of the mouth of a no-nothing fool.

I thought his 'frigid' comment to Tana was a step too far, even for a pantomime villain.

It was too personal and inappropriate for a family show.

Common decency is a very distant second to controversy here. Sarcastic soundbites are far more en vogue than rational, constructive comments.

It's what the producers have decided the viewers want. Whether we do or not.

This show is about viewers, ratings and airtime for the protagonists. No way will Jason sacrifice his role - he's quite good at it (in as much as anyone can be) and it means he gets the most coverage. Whatever we think of him, he isn't stupid.

I couldn't believe it when he started arguing with Robin about the spiral. Like anyone's going to take Jason seriously in comparison to Robin on the skating required element.

A lot of the time I do agree with Jason's critiques (but maybe not the way he phrases them )

The thing is, he does both. He does give good constructive criticism, but the boos drown him out. Even when he hasn't said anything bad he gets booed, it's very annoying.

I actually agreed about the 'frigid' remark. And I didn't construe it in the sexual sense, it can mean 'cold' and 'unfeeling' in the context of the emotions Tana displayed - or rather what she didn't.

I think last week he said Sharon Davies looked like she was possessed by a tree or something. Am I right? Just what was the man thinking?

I'm still at a loss as to what qualifies him to remark on peformance much less ice dancing.

This 'nasty' lark has got a bit out of hand really. Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Cowell were unpleasant, but deadly accurate – I am yet to disagree with anything Cowell has ever said in his capacity as a judge on any talent show. Craig Revel Horwood is a bit of a bitch queen on occasion, but he doesn't take himself very seriously.

Jason, however, is guilty both of being nasty simply for effect, and of valuing his own blarney far too highly. You can be disparaging without being cruel; you can be cruel without pretending your word is gospel. But don't do both and expect me to like you.

I normally despise cruel people on reality tv shows, but somehow I find Jason very entertaining. Especially considering that he's judging ice skating yet he can't even skate himself. It's a bit hypocritical. I do agree that he sometimes oversteps the mark, last night being one of those times.

Frigid school mistress was cruel indeed. Possessed by a tree was as well, though strangely I kinda agreed with the 'content' of the criticism, without those nasty references.

He could easily have told Sharon (whom I still can't warm to, but she's better last Saturday) her hands were stiff and expressionless and needed to loosen up a lot more. She could have told Tana she's not 'acting' her role and too self-conscious and must 'let go' and be 'in character' if she wants to get far in the competition. But guess that would make some boring TV viewing for some audience.

Good post! The Jason comment that reallyannoyed me last night was when he was bleating on to heather to raise her leg in diff position. She demonstrated and told him 3 times that it wasn't physically poss but rather than listen he just kept on insisting that he was right .... as usual

I also thought the comment about Hilary being decrepid was going a bit too far. I like Jason on This Morning but he's been annoying me a lot this year on DOI.

Some of his remarks might be a bit below the belt. But what gets me is that some of his criticism is actually quite constructive - if only the audience would listen and not start booing the minute he opens his mouth!

If there is any thing worse than Jason in the show, it's got to be the audience! They always make my blood boil with their behaviour!

Since Tana 'Cookbook Author' Ramsay announced that if she won she would allow Gordon to father a child on her, maybe that's what put it into Jason's mind.
