I don't mind a judge giving criticism, and some of the stuff that Jason says is correct. However when it gets personal, like it did when he made that comment to tana last week, then thats when hes stepped over the line.

He need's to tone it down a little, yet give constructive criticism without, making it come across like a personal attack!

Jason Gardiner is the most supercillious person I have ever come across and the rudest. He is spiteful beyond belief and his remark to Sharron tonight was crass.

What is really worrying is his remark about "flying faecal matter that won't flush" was aired before the watershed when children were watching a family show. Not only that - Sharron's daughter was teased at school because of Gardiner's tree remarks. When kids find out what flying faecal matter is - just think how Sharron's daughter will suffer all because Gardiner thinks he is justified in making his vitriolic remarks.

He has a mouth like a bee's arse, waspish little Queen that he is. He can't skate, has no fashion sense, is carrying out a vendetta against Sharron and should be removed from the programme and if I never saw him again it would be too soon.

Yes, he's out of his depth, and he tries to cover this by being obnoxious. He's not able to give useful criticism, and so he ends up being absurdly (and inconsistently) picky about relatively unimportant details.

His comments about Sharron and Pavel tonight were despicable.

I personally think they should get rid of him after the remarks about Sharon, thy might not be able to this series but please don't bring him back the next series. And what is his problem with Kieron, he doesn't seem to like him at all.

Craig Revel Horwood is not a trained Ballroom/Latin dancer.

Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh are not singers.

Jason is supposed to be commenting on the overall performance/entertainment and NOT the skating.

Craig Revel-Horwood may not be a trained Ballroom/Latin dancer but he understands dance. Ice dance is different because there is so much more involved - he wouldn't be qualified to judge that because he can't skate.

Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh are not professional singers but both are record producers and thoroughly understand the business about what will sell and what will not. and who they can market and who they cannot and so are supremely qualified to judge X Factor. One of the stars this show produced was Leona Lewis and if she had not appeared on the show she wouldn't be the star she is today. Susan Boyle appeared on "Britain's Got Talent", one of Cowell's shows. She had been struggling to be "a professional singer" for years and she has made it thanks to the opportunity she was given in a show where Cowell was a judge. I rest my case.

Jason Gardiner cannot skate, does not understand the technicalities of skating and therefore is not qualified to judge Ice Dance. He may be qualified to judge dance on terra firma but dancing on ice is quite a different ballgame and he has showed how ridiculous he is when he tries to shout down Robin, an Olympic and European Champion. He is now a self-appointed style guru and anyone with half a brain wouldn't take any fashion tips from him because he looks ridiculous.

Putting all that aside, his remarks to Sharron were personal, unprofessional, spiteful beyond belief and he crossed the line to a point where his comments became unacceptable. Her daughter is being bullied at school and when her peers learn what "a piece flying faecal matter" is the poor child's life will be hell all because that supercillious creature thinks he is justified in making poisonous remarks for "entertainment" purposes.

I hope he is removed from the show with immediate effect and will crawl back under the stone from whence came from.

If this nasty little creep is not fired from DOI then I suggest we should complain direct to Macleans who sponsor the show.

I agree that his comments were totally out of order, and for once I think, he should apologise. My other half and myself couldn't believe our ears, and the worst thing about it was that the routine was actually an improvement on previous weeks.

However, you keep on about this in your posts. Whilst I don't want a child to be bullied, we don't have real proof for this. Sharron said that her daughter had been teased about the arm tree comment. I'm more concerned about the immediate effect that his comments have on Sharron than what they might do to her family.

The problem with all these programmes who employ judges of Gardiner's ilk, is they encourage the notion that to disrespect another human being, for trying their hardest to accomplish something, is in some way funny and entertaining.

As someone else has said, these are family shows, aired before the watershed , the message they send out to young kids watching is anything but positive at times.

Actually, what with Gardiner, the amount of adverts interrupting the flow, and the crazy voting, I'm bailing out of watching anymore, it's lost it's appeal for me.

I suspect that you won't be alone in doing so. It must be soul destroying for Sharron Davies to work so hard for a week to make such an improvement, to then have it slated in such a disgusting and unconstructive manner.
Jason Gardiner is fast becoming an irrelevancy, as pointless as having the empty headed 'baby' spice on the show. I respect the views of the professional skaters, Gardiner & Bunton are a waste of 2 seats.
I'd like to see the two of them on the ice.......then let them comment.

I work for a charity which supports vulnerable children in school - so I am more concerned about the effects Gardiner's words will have on Sharron's daughter because she didn't sign up to appear in Dancing on Ice and believe me - children will tease and bully her at school because that is what children do - given the ammunition which Gardiner has handed to them on a plate. He should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.

Anyway, I agree about the bold bit anyway, and to be truthful I would not want my mother to be called what he called Sharron.

He also said that he didn't find Kieron 'entertaining'. Well, technicalities aside and I realise there are faults, perhaps someone should say to Jason "Tough faecal matter. Plenty of us did."

What does Kieron's body and how big his muscles are have to do with how he performs on the show each week? He can't exactly suddenly develop a bodybuilder's physique by this time next week.

ITV - you can't keep him just because he's the nasty judge and makes comments like this. He goes way too far and he needs to be stopped.

Some of his innuendoes (and he keeps on making them) about Kieron's 'unmanliness' in his eyes have been particularly distasteful and personal. They seem to come from a really bitter part of him, and it's not pleasant to see it at all.


I thought that was just as stupid a comment as his Sharron one was rude. Kieron might not have been perfect, but his performance was most definitely fun and entertaining (a lot more so than most of the others, to be honest!). Again, like with Sharron, I think that came more from his personal dislike of him, than anything else, which is pretty pathetic.

Yes, I think that it's possible he is taking out his own issues from past hurts on the contestants. He certainly makes it look that way.

Anyway, in one respect he has done Sharron a favour.

Have to agree that comment is a bit OTT. Someone needs to take him aside and tell him that those kinda comments are rude, undermine the contestants' confidence and should be kept to himself in future. Did you hear him saying that Hayley (I think it was) saying she had more energy than EDF?? That was probably a positive comment but it was the only good thing Jason ever said. The rest of his comments are just sick.

You were comparing Jason with Craig. Simon and Louis! You then went on to say that Jason could not judge the ice dancing because he can not skate.

I was simply pointing out you that, using your example; Craig can not judge Ballroom/Latin because he is not a trained B/L dancer or an officially licensed adjudicator; and neither Simon nor Louis can sing.

I am obviously fully aware of Simon and Louis' expertise in the music industry and Craigs experience as a stage show choreographer.

Do I agree with Jason's comments to Sharron and Tanna? Absolutely not. His personal comments to all contestants are totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I would preferr the judges to ALL be skaters/ice dancers, without both Jason and Emma.
