When i was very young (in the 1980's) my mum used to sing me a song at night , which had lines in it , like:

"there's nothing I'm doing in Denmark today.... Love is like a box of tricks, nothing could be safer, light the touchpaper".

My mum says she has no recollection of it at all and I cant find anything via Google. I am beginning to think I may be going mad....

can anyone help?

Possibly you just misheard what your mum had been singing all those times!

Are you sure you didn't dream it ? The 80s isn't THAT Long ago, surely your mum would have remembered a song she used to sing to you. I can still remember the song my mum and dad used to sing to me " go to sleep my baby, close your pretty brown eyes, angels up above you, peeking at you daily from the skys " But I know they can both remember it too and that was nearly 50 years ago.

I dont know whether it was a boy or girl singing because i only have a memory of my mum singing it. (She was a girl!)

It would have been i the early 1980's -1981-83 I would guess?

Also, i did live in Denmark for a short while but that was in the early 90's so i couldn't have heard it then??
and strangely enough i was friends with Peter Schmeichel's sister for quite a while....

Right, I think i should give up. I really think that i have completely invented this, a least if it is a "false menory" its quite a nice one.

Thank you for your help anyway!!!
