Heather Mills has come out and said she will personally pay Matt more than the €60 K salary ITV pays, because he has had far more to do training her given her circumstances! Sounds about right actually given the amount of Pros in the show.

One has to bear in mind the going rate for what he is doing and how many hours he is putting in.

Would be interesting to see how much the judges get in comparison to the pro skaters!!

I had heard rumours in the first year of the show that the pros were on £20 K and then once the tour came along they got the same for that, dont know if this is true or not though.

Surely they must be on some sort of basic fee plus fee per week once the show starts. Surely the pro's who get knocked out in week one don't as much as the pro's who continue throughout the series?

And how much Chris and Jane are getting in comparison with all of them!

£60,000 is loads !!!

I expect it is nothing in comparision to the celebs such as Heather Mills though.

Yeah. She costs an arm and a leg.

Not really though, because a) she can easily afford it and b) she might just be doing it to look nice. That said, I do think she is probably doing it out of genuine gratitude. I'm not a Heather basher I'm just saying.

The pros who get knocked out in week one still have to block out the entire show. They can't sit there in September and take on jobs for February just in case they get knocked out.

Or she might not actually do it. She`s made similar empty promises in the past. What she publicly states she will do, and what she actually does are two different things. And what about her charidees?
What would really be impressive would be if she could provide ordianry amputees with custom-made skating legs. Then she wouldn`t need to be the "only" amputee ice-dancer.

Surely there must be some sort of weekly bonus for staying in though? Just to encourage them to do well, and put in the effort with their celeb? Otherwise, it would sort of be better for the pros if they went out early...

Exposure = sales.

The more exposure they have, the more likely they are to have work when Dancing on Ice is over.

£60,000 is loads, I think the SCD pros get much less that that. But still like many of you said that's probably nothing compared to T+D and Phillip and Holly.

Don't the SCD pros get £30K in which case £60K aint that bad. T & D are worth every penny of what they get paid as it is them that make the show for me.

I think it's around that, so the DOI pros don't do bad compared I agree with you on T + D they are worth every penny, and they work so hard on the show.

See if I was the pro on SCD on DOI I would want to be voted out first week and just get paid!

I don't think that the pros have the same mentality as you though. They have all skated from a very young age & worked really hard over the years so they'll all want to do as well as possible.

Also, there is an incentive as the longer you stay in the more likely you are to tour & I guess that's another lucrative pay day as well as the thrill of performing in front of live audiences.

I am pleasantly surprised if they are paid £60K. They deserve it though.

That's a lot more than the SCD oros isn't it?

Deserve every penny though.

Odd really SCD pros are underpaid yet get plenty of exposure which probably strengthens their profile, with DOI pros it's the complete opposite.

The DOI pros probably have more earning power outside of DOI though, compared to most of the SCD pros. There's quite a lot of demand for good ice dancers, I think. So it may simply be that ITV have to offer a bit more to get suitably skilled people.

I still reckon there will be some sort of extra weekly payment to the pros though, rather than just a fixed sum.

That wouldn't be fair though would it as they don't pick their partners? As someone said it's the earning power of the exposure that keeps them wanting to stay each week plus the pride in the job I expect is the main reason.

Aren't the eliminated pros also required not just to continue to participate in the shows, but do any linked publicity, possibly also helping out the remaining couples etc? That would suggest a retainer fee at the very least.

Based on previous series they are only required to come back for the final show. Bobby Davro's partner Molly has been Tweeting that she's getting ready to fly back to America.

As another poster said earlier in the thread though, they wouldn't be able to take on any work whilst the show is on in case they stayed in.
