Make up for face

Hi all thinking of buying some make up just to cover imperfections. Never worn make up before. Have a really cheap no. 17 pressed powder but want something better. Cant remember what make they are but have seen these all in one things that are foundation and powder in one little pot.

Any ideas? Something that is going to make it easy to just get up and put a bit of make up on face.

Also how do I know what colour to use for my skin? Is it worth going into Boots and just asking for help?

If the only makeup you are buying is to cover up imperfections, then perhaps you could spend a little more money?
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer.
MAC concealers are good too.

Maybe talk to an assistant on the make-up counters? They can usually find you exactly what you want, it's their job.

Do you mean mineral foundation? I think mineral foundations amazing, its a lot better than liquid foundation at covering spots/imperfections, and it gives a more natural and even finish. The best one I've tried is by Maybelline, and its fairly cheap too. Lily Lolo are really good as well, and you can get cheap testers from their website to find the right shade. And Bare Minerals are meant to be good, I think they're quite expensive though.

Eyes Lips Face (ELF) do a cheap range of mineral make up too - ELF Minerals

Haven't used it myself though, so I can't make a recommendation on that basis.

Thanks for the replies.

I think this is the product im thinking of that I saw on an advert once and thought looked good. http://www.boots.com/en/LOreal-Paris...ndation_44959/

So if you buy something like this foundation do you also have to get a pressed powder to go over the top pr is that going to be enough with just the foundation.

Sheer Cover is your answer...the best concealer of skin imperfections...even the worst kind.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser is wonderful. Buildable coverage, light, with a beautiful glow.
