I got myself some steel cut oats, it says 40g is a serving but it looks like next to nothing ... do they really puff up or do i need to put in more than the suggestion ?

This is my method.
40 gms Mornflake oats. 180 mls semi skimmed milk. Microwave on full power 800 watts, for 120 seconds, then stir, microwave again for 1 minute stirring after 30 seconds. Add honey. This works for me. Hope this makes sense . |

No made in the usual way, by milling. Btw I've never heard of steel cut oats, how does that work?.

I tried them recently, they are quite different to the normal stuff, quite chewy. I really liked them but they take 20 minutes to cook although overnight soaking may shorten this.
My favourite way to eat them is with natural peanut butter and chocolate chips stirred in. |
