Hi

Is the responsiveness on the 5800 good? As a former iPhone user (and still would be if it wasn't for the poor battery) I wondered if the 5800 can live up to the touch screen of the iPhone?

I ask as the 5800 has a resistive touch screen as opposed to the capacitive that the iPhone has.

Thanks for any advice

When it is not thinking about something else it is responsive enough. But it does seem to struggle to think about more than one thing at a time.

Agree. Having said then, when I tried using the keyboard on the iPhone after using my 5800 for a while, the typing was crap.

It's just a question of what you're used to, whenever I pick up someone else's mobile I always have trouble using them, likewise when people use my 5800. After a week or so of a new phone I find I'm using it intuitively and any issues I may have had at the beginning have gone.

If that was in reply to me I agree, I should have quoted coolmark18 because that's who I was responding to.

My friend is a 5800 user and when she played around with my iPhone, she was amazed at the superior responsiveness of it.

Get yourself down to a shop and try one. If you think you can live with it it will be a bargin now that free sat nav is included (if you have any need for free sat nav that is). In lots of ways it is better than the iPhone but not in the user interface.

While the 5800 maybe a bit sluggish when multitasking - it at least CAN multitask.

I have a nokie 5800 and the slight touch is responsive. Its great. Although I have never had an Iphone so I couldn't really compare it. But I am strict when it comes to a touch responsive phone, it has to be very touch responsive or I wont have it, and the 5800 is perfect for that
