I doubt if its on where you come but how good and watchable you are if available. (Obvious exception for Todd when its how bad you are) On that basis in 2009 you would go for Melinda, Roxy, Jessica and Zoe. Melinda looked good and was probably even more capable than they let her show on the show. Roxy would have a go at the headbanger type moves when no one else last year could. She was more essential for wow factor because Suzanne didn't have Matt and Clare wasn't there. Zoe and Jessica were the two top girls so they were certains. Clare and Bonnie were not available, Suzanne was and was the previous champion. Donal wasn't very good anyway and certainly not so good that you would take him over a Kyran or a Chris. Ray and Todd had places for opposite but inevitable reasons.

For 2010, would Heather have the time or the need even if her leg allowed her - she would attract a lot of interest though if she was on tour? Unless Emily gets up to Melinda's level though they have a shortage of good girls and need some of the past greats back. As you say they look like having a lot of good boys and too few girls. Thats what comes of going for taller, older girls and then losing Sinnita who probably had more potential than several (was she available though anyway?) .

Well if Suzanne is ruled out then I think it's more likely that Heather will tour. The only other girl good enough to come back and who may be available is Clare so they would need to have more girls from this year's series.

Well it's now confirmed on the DS Home page. Suzanne is joining Emmerdale & will start filming next month so definitely no tour for her this year.

Ya it's extremely doubtful, she did do the tour during Chicago rehearsals and drove back and forth to London but she'll want to settle herself into Emmerdale so I don't think she will. They wouldn't want there new starlet breaking a leg either. This makes them very short of good girls...

Which if wiki is right about where Emmerdale is made means she's working in Leeds and her husband is too which explains the interview I glanced at saying she wanted to settle down and not be away from him.

Yep Jay does Breakfast with Joel on Radio Aire every morning. The role makes sense for her professionally and personally.

Cant believe they have asked Gaynor if this is true, I remember the time of the first tour and she stated she wouldnt do it incase she got hurt!! Doubt she needs a career boost again........

Dan will more than likely be with Hayley for the tour if they continue to do as well as they are just now, and has she even kept up her skating??

That article also says in the last line that Ray is a former runner up, though - I'd take it with a hefty pinch of salt.

I've just read the article and it says that Ray is a former X-Factor runner up which is true.

It says "former X FACTOR runner-up which is correct!" and both articles seem genuine. Jayne and Chris are on GMTV tomorrow at around 7.30 a.m. according to their twitter, which says they will talk about the programme and have tour news, so that may finally confirm it.

Source is quoted as Press Association so I think that's pretty genuine.

Surprised about Gaynor. Unless she's been doing a lot of skating recently I can't imagine her being very good. Not too fussed about Ray. Chris is the only returnee I am excited about.

Pleased Mikey is doing the tour, although I always suspected he would. Didn't expect them to confirm any of this year's celebs for a few weeks yet.

I am absolutely delighted Ray is back, the best skater the show has produced, love watching him! Whether he will be with Maria is debatable if they include Gary Lucy of course. Not fussed about Chris Fountain really, but in fairness he is likely to be the only real competition for Ray, unless one of this years skaters ups their game soon. Mikey will probably prove popular with the public I expect. Can't really undertand Gaynor, but they may be short of women skaters to include, but would expect to see Hayley and Daniella probably?

If those are the three from the past, then I would expect another two possibly men from this year with Mikey and three women from this year probably if they go with nine like last year.

Where is Clare?

I'm a little shocked at Gaynor, she didn't do any of the tours previously did she?

I think Danniella and Hayley are fairly certain (hope so in Danniella's case) and Clare as well would make for a more even split.

Clare's tweets seem to suggest that she is back in training again skating. Whether it's for the tour and it's not announced yet or she is just keeping her hand in for Kyran's Ice Party is a different matter.

I know last year though she said the reason she didn't go on the tour is because acting is her profession and that is what she want's to concentrate on.

Wasn't Gaynor back on one of the xmas shows a few years back and proved to be obviously weak compared to anyone else - or was that someone else?


The odd thing is that Mikey is announced and no one else - it might be wrong or just chance he was asked by someone first - still looks early given how many past boys they have and how many might beat him this year.

There was a champion of champions show after series two in which the top skaters from the first two series competed. This principally showed how far the show had progressed in terms of celeb ability and, yes, Gaynor did suffer by comparison to Kyran and Clare. By contrast, Bonnie came off well and was marked second by the panel (behind Kyran) despite a fall, not that this was enough to get her into the final two which were those from series 2.

Maybe Gaynor has been keeping up the skating as Bonnie had done between series one and two (she certainly surprised me when she returned). If she has I can understand the choice given the few females that are currently available. If she hasn't, it may prove embarrassing.

Inciidentally, who do we think she might skate with? Matt? Fred? Andrei?

Clare as I understand it skates regularly and with Kyran and has done his shows so she's not stopped either skating or skating with someone as a dancing pair - difficult to see Gaynor doing either from scratch. You would hope they have signed Clare up too or its going to look very odd. No problem justifying it as Chris was a runner up too and Clare still has the second best female marks ever.

I agree - if Clare is available, it would look indefensible not to have signed her this year. If she isn't touring, one would hope there's a very good reason for it because there looks to be a paucity of females.
