Virgin Mobile creating unwanted insurance policies
Got a 'certificate' today, that my insurance policy has begun as of 25/01, first payment 01/05, £5.99.
It also says cover started 27/07/2009, I guess that could have been when I got this phone - but it was a freebie with their bottom rate pay monthly package (£8.50 for 100+100) They say the first 3 months are free until May - but that makes no sense if the policy start date was July. Anyway, I did not set up this insurance, I'm NOT happy. I can't get through by landline, can't get through by mobile, so I've sent an email. I've checked my online banking, and they'd already set up the DD, though not taken anything yet. So I've cancelled that. Just wondered if anyone else had had this happen? |

Yes! Exactly the same thing has happened to me
![]() I got the letter a few weeks ago, I need to get it cancelled before they start charging me. I've been told I can cancel it online....I might try now

All sounds a bit shonky to me.
Worst of all, the envelope it came in had the insurance company's name on it, not Virgin. I always open Virgin stuff, just to see what they've done to my account NOW (I'm with VMedia too) but this looked like spam. I could easily have binned it and known nothing until payments started leaving my account. Well dodgy. My son. Pear-shaped. |
