Well,I never really felt any connection with his partner

Plus, somebody should have told him that whilst he was napping some kids crept up and doodled on his fizzog

But seriously folks,eye-poppingly good

Figure skating, excellent but not ice dancing.

Very entertaining indeed, but I've seen more convincing DANCING on Dancing on Ice. His skating was excellent but his dancing quite awkward.

Yes Davis adn White are excellent

I didn't think Johnny's dancing was awkward in the slightest though and technically it's not 'ice dance' he's doing but I think you get the jist

I love Davis & White too - they are my fave ice dancers of the current crop, along with Virtue & Moir.

Yup, it's a free skating exhibition and all the "dance" is in the upper body - ice dance is all about footwork and edges .

And what was wrong with his footwork or edges?! There was plenty of use of edges as far as I could see.

Great skating - had to laugh at this comment somebody had put beneath the vid though -

is he really gay? just because you like or listen to lady gaga doesn't mean you're gay

HELLO!, did you look at the guy at all?

Do you think footwork and edges don't matter in figure skating?

Imo, it's ice dancers who are more able to get away with upper-body dancing.

I agree - I've just had my lesson and it was all about blardy edges

I am a figure skater so I know exactly what is important in the free skating discipline. You're trying to put words into my mouth - I said it wasn't dance because it wasn't all about the footwork, that's very different from saying footwork isn't important in free skating.

This was an exhibition skate anyway so not strictly free skate or ice dance and much more about interpreting the music and words than a free skate but including the jumps of free and other moves that aren't really in either. Johnny is a free skater but he dances beautifully (I think he has a lot of ballet training) and has the softest jump landings of any skater I've ever seen.

Tbh, I wasn't really looking for a debate about whether it really was 'ice dancing' - I just thought it was cool, fun, entertaining and I think he skates beautifully. THat was it really!

And you are exactly right - he does skate beautifully and he's a nice guy to boot.

They were both fabulous, thanks Elphabatoo and Agent Krycek.

I'm so excited about the Olympics now! I foresee several very late nights, I just hope the BBC are covering all the skating.
