Who will die in Coronation Street?
Someone is going to die in Corrie this summer according to the Digital Spy story. Who will it be? The article says Nick and Harry are possibilities.
I think it will be Nick, which would allow Leanne to be introduced again if she comes to the funeral. Who do you think? Last edited by Pop Princess : 12-04-2004 at 21:05. |

If it actually is a "high-profile" character then it's a lot more likely to be Nick than Harry Flag.

I really hope that isn't true about Emily!!!!
I would be really upset! lol! Just recovered from Tricky Dicky trying to bump her off. I always kept shouting at the TV and probably most of the country did as well, going "Look out Emily!!!" and "NOOOO Emily, he's trying to kill you!!! Emily is such a well-loved character, I don't think they should do anything like that. |

If they are to kill off Emily it will because the actress who plays her wants to leave; I can't imagine they'd kill her off otherwise as she is such a long established and well loved character. I guess maybe she wants to retire or something. (If they are getting rid of her, which I doubt). I guess if she was leaving she'd have to die as the character is so set in her ways, it's unlikely she'd move to another area (unless she's really had enough of Norris)
![]() I hope it's Nick Tilsley. I love Corrie but he belongs in Hollyoaks with his wooden acting and model looks. Hope Eileen doesn't go, I don't think they use her enough and she is a fantastic comic actress. I agree with the previous post, Harry is not high profile enough. |

Sorry foks, but I hope it's Emily.. what is the point of her?? I can't believe such an appalling actress playing such an incipid character has lasted so long... Although I have to agree with the general view that it will be Nick.. poor Gail...

I'll second that, hate that wooden idiot! He's so smarmy and I think Shelley is way too good for him. Can't Charlie go and do a building job at Sally's work when Bev is there and suddenly a bomb goes off killing them all!?!? Now there's a storyline EVERYONE would love! |

I'd be devastated if Emily was written out of the show. There's much more of a point to Emily's chracter than to many others. Such as the Websters, the Harris family (they're going though aren't they?) etc. As for Nick however, the slower the death the better.. |

I think the Digital Spy rumour mill is fully in motion with the Emily Bishop fire story. They;ve had 1 fire this year already there won't be 2 and besides whats the point of killing off Emily? Emily is a bit pointless but every soap has to have its pointless characters just to add some realism (which is why Harry Flagg should stay!). Emily, Eileen, That Street Cars taxi driver, Norris, Rita and Tyronne hardly ever have stories BUT they are part of the show and can be called upon for extra stories when the big storylines get too much (like Tyroone's dog!).
If someone is going to die then I agree that Nick has to go! I have never like Adam Ricketts acting style. He was brought in to replace Warren Jackson purly as eye candy for the teenage girls but they don't need him now! I like the idea of him dying in a club like Brian, Hope it's true! |

Most of the elderly characters on the street don't need big storylines to be vital in the community. Emily is like one of those watchful guardian do-gooder types. That's her point, as well as being a much-loved constant in the show for many a year. Remember how she talked Brenda Ferns down from the roof. No other character could have handled that credibly, because it was the Emily thing to do. Or remember how she managed to persuade her god-daughter tracy to keep her baby and gave her a place to stay when thrown out of her own gaff? That's Emily. She always plays the role of a local savior. She helped Spider (Geoffrey..) to save some trees by climbing up and surprising everyone etc. She's not pointless at all.

i too think that the odds are it will be nick as adam rickett has already confirmed on his web site that he will be leaving the show this summer, i doubt they will send the character to canada as they have done that several times already, so they may kill him off. however as for leanne coming back for the funeral, adams site has inplied that she will be returning before he leaves with a triangle between him, leanne and maria

A triangle? I wouldn't have expected that. I'd have thought Leanne wouldn't want anything more to do with Nick, and surely Janice and les would make sure of it!

I thought that too, however this is from adams march journal on his web site :
It's been rather an eventful month what with announcing to the press my departure and trying to start planning all the projects for after I'm gone. If you've logged on recently you'll know that despite rumours this was always a planned move by both myself and the Street, and there was never any question of Nick staying beyond the summer. Although I can't give too many details away I can say that the storyline will involve the return of Leanne and the triangle this creates between her, Nick and Maria. |

Lol, Adam's journal, now that should be some very light reading..
Hopefully this might all lead to Maria and Tyrone becoming an item again, that'd be great. They were so cute together.. It's highly doubtful though. : ( |
