Hello, I think my dog has liver cancer, he is in the vets now. I have looked at the symtoms and it looks like he might have it.

I feel very sad at the moment. if he dies how do i cope because at the moment i feel like i will cry forever. i love him and he will always have a place in my heart. I would have anouther dog but how long should i wait to get anougher one.

I am feel sad as i write this. please could you say a little preyer for him. His name is Vinnie.

Sorry to hear about Vinnie
Does the vet think he has liver cancer or could it be something less?
If the worse is true there is no set time to get over a loss and yes you do always keep them in your heart, but gradually you can think of them with the joy of sharing their lives, rather than the pain of their parting.
Some people cope by getting another pet, not to replace the one they have lost but to go some way to filling the void and distraction from the loss with a new, unique personality and quirks and they honour the memory of their lost friend that way.
Other people cannot face taking on another dog for a long time afterwards, or even feel to do so would be disloyal to their previous dog.
Everyone copes differently with their loss, there is no right or wrong, just what is right or wrong for you.

Fingers crossed for Vinnie, hopefully you won' t need to tqke any notice of what I have said for a while yet

i have a update, he has not got liver cancer, he is diabetic. He is still very ill and the vet said that if we had not taken him to the vets he would have died that night. There is still a chance that he will die but a chance he might not so we will have to wait and see.

well i think he is about 10 years old. we got him off some friends of ours about 4 years ago. but then we found out that these people we thought were our friends were nasty people. i think they kicked and hit him, but i will not go into that. He is a fighter and hopefully if he gets better i can take him out for walks again and he will be his silly old self again.
