Yay, some support for Toyah. I really thought her actress was fantastic. She had such a challenging role and so many difficult emotional storylines. Actually I've seen her on so many other British shows it's scary. Such as Red Cap and All Saints..

Anyway, I also want to add that for EE I'd love if they brought back Tom. It'd be a bit too much for Sharon though I guess if a second loved-one rose from the dead in the space of a year.. Lol. : )

Neighbours: Joe Mangle and Bouncer the Dog!
Enders: Grant, Phil, Wicksy, Arthur (who could come back from the dead and tell Pauline he has been living in spain with Christine Hewitt!) Jules Tavenier and Blossom and Angie, would love to see her on screen with Den again and last but not least Roly the Poodle
Hollyoaks: Luke Morgan he could come and make Mandy even more miserable
Emmerdale: Frank and Kim Tate and Dave Glover

From EastEnders, I'd love it if they brought back Tiffany, Carol Jackson, Bianca, Arthur, Tom, Michelle, Frank, Little Mo, Nigel & Debbie, Dan, Cindy, Sanjay & Gita, Terry & Irene, Jules, Jeff, Kathy, Mel, Nita, Robbie, Nina, Ruth, Anthony, Sarah, Sandra, Shirley, Simon Reymond - did I go a little over the top??

Might be going a little off the topic but i would love it if the whole jackson family would come back for Sonias wedding, including Alan, he was like a father to her. i find it a bit hard to believe that a family like the Jacksons who claimed to be so close and looked out for each other would leave their daughter/sister (Sonia) to cope with teenage pregnancy/the loss of her fiance and now her wedding by herself, the only one that stuck by her was Robbie! Even if they just bought back Carol to see her youngest daughter now and again it would be more believable or even if you overhear a conversation with Sonia and her mum.

Has anyone seen Jim Robinson (Neighbours) in 'The O.C.' on Ch4/E4?

I suppose you've read about Billy Jackson making a comeback to the square for the wedding.. Well that's something at least I guess.

Yeah its a start but what mother would miss her own daughters wedding?
Garbage

An EE one! The Ferreira's mother missed her own son being in hospital after a near-fatal stabbing.. then went on to miss the hunt for a kidney donor.. and now her children's financial crisis too!

And Bianca's role maybe reprised for the wedding now, I read in The Sun's TV Mag.

The scriptwriters could at least put something believable in like the mum came to visit Ronnie but we never actually saw her in there becuase she was angry at one of the other kids - that would be more believable than her being on holiday and unreachable!!! I mean come on are they taking us for idiots or what. I love Eastenders but things like this really get on my nerves, the other really irritating thing is that Alfie borrowed money from his wife's ex-fiance when he was the one who messed things up between them. Does anyone else think that EE employs new scriptwriters but doesnt actually tell them whats been going on for the last 20 years?

Seriously?

Yeah, I agree that they tend to change characters' personalities to fit whatever ridiculous storyline they think will boost ratings. All along Alfie was an artful dodger and Spence was the dozy one.. The original Alfie Moon presented in the show would never have fallen for such a blatant revenge stunt. It's totally disrespectful to assume viewers will go with such a far-fetched concept.

Anotehr thing that annoys me is how the script-writers deal out long and boring monologues to their characters which slows down the show considerably and is something other soaps refrain from doing, for the obvious reason that it's just plain tedious..

This Holiday Camp idea isnt going too well either, they are playing up the Dot and Jim thing again and just wasting time, who really wants to watch that lot? Although i do love Jim and Patrick and they should do a spin off like the Pat and Mo thing with Jim and the Brannings! that would be brilliant.

And theres another one, wasnt Jim meant to be horrible to Carol when she was younger and we were all meant to dislike him for his bigotry now they play that up too to make it funny (as said to Derek: "your lot are good at organising things") i think Jim is brilliant but this is a classic example of EE's Poor scriptwriting recently. And the same with Billy Mitchell, Phil Mitchell (wasnt he meant to be the sensible bro?) sam mitchell, kate mitchell (a woman with brains to become an undercover police officer now working in a nail bar?) the list is endless really!

Perhaps in a couple of years they will bring back Nick Cotton and he will have a degree and have become a councillor for people suffering HIV/Aids.

Yes - wasn't he prejudiced against Alan because he was black, and now Jim's best mate is black.

I'd like to see Grant Mitchell back in EE and Kim Tate in Emmerdale

If i recall correctly he more or less disowned Carol for marrying Alan because he was black.

I think Eastenders should employ scriptwriters that actually pay attention to what is going on!!!

Well I think the holiday camp idea was intended to lighten the mood of the show with more of the soap's more comical characters in focus for a change. It was getting much too heavy thanks to the Watt's family issues and Andy's threat hanging over Alfie's head.

I totally agree, the characters are becoming more inconsistent due to the writers altering them so that they'll suit scenarios which they originally wouldn't have adapted to. If it's true that Andy Hunter marries Sam Mitchell then this will be a prime example. I mean how unlikely is it that the low-life user would actually want to commit? Unless of course it's a means to gain financially..

I agree, EE is now plot-based rather than character-based like Corrie, and the problem is the plots are rubbish

The writers don't seem to have a clue who they're writing for, there is no feeling of consistency within the characters. Don't get me started on the Ferreira parents debacle

The oldies week isn't working either, it all seems 'forced' rather than a natural development. Yes EE needs a bit of lightening up, but frankly the writers somehow make it even more depressing when they're trying to do comedy! It's like being back in a 70s sitcom.

Anyway, back to the topic, a post above reminded me -- I'd love to see Irene and Terry come back. Irene was great. But the chances of tempting good actors back into EE at the moment are not great, they wouldn't want to ruin their reputations (no chance of getting Lindsey Coulson back for Sonia's wedding!)

Yeah, personally when it comes to great ex-eastend actors, who've moved onto better things I'd love for Martin kemp and Tamzin Outhwaite to come back. Those two were great and dare-I-say stylish, something the square doesn't see very often really. Unfortunately since Steve got charred to a crisp it's unlikely we'll see his seriously shiny black shoes stepping down into the Vic again any time soon. Ah well..

BUT!!!!!! did steve's body ever get recovered? and wasn't there talk of steve owen having an identicle twin brother called Clint?

Never heard of Clint, but since Steve was pretty much incinerated there wasn't much to recover! Lol, I doubt he climbed from the wreckage with Phil nearby watching.. although, again, it is EE after all!
