I had this too, I literally only had the Humax set up yesterday and I've been asked to retune 2 or 3 times. Does it still think its last September?
I think 1 time I retuned by mistake (but I didnt lose anything) and then I just said "no".

Trouble is if you press NO when you put your box into standby you will get the onscreen message again and again and again until you rescan.

Why does it want me to rescan though when I just got the box?

It's true, the HDR will not take NO as a answer.

Just making you catch up with all the scans we have had to do since late 2008.

It happens every time I bring the box out of standby. Rumours of a firmware update next week so it could be to fix this problem.

Like all of you, I have been having the retune notification all week, at least once a day and the results have all been zero.
I also noticed that the retune prompt comes at approximatly 0250am just prior to the automatic 3am check.
As stated in a reply, It's a known problem to Humax and they will eventually sort this out.
Just as well Humax produced their new software update, otherwise we would be constantly re-adding the ITV HD channels back to our schedule list.

I haven't experienced this at all. A state that a box can get into, cured by a power-off reset as above?

I wonder to what extent some people's experience is altered by settings such as what the box does when you put it into standby.

I wondered this as well but virtually all my settings are at defaults and there's non associated with sby that have been altered. No problems with mine just the one abortive retune.

I get the retune prompt every boot as well. Tried a complete power down (as suggested in another post) and it still prompts me.

My settings are:-

Automatic Standby is disabled.
Power Saving in stnadby is on.

Other settings which I don't think should affect anything but I will state for reference:-

Power on Time is 18:00
Power on Channel is 999
Power off time is 2:55

I don't get the retune. Like Graham I don't think I've changed the power setting from default. i.e.
Automatic Standby is disabled.
Power Saving in standby is on.

Power on Time is not set
Power on Channel is not set
Power off time is not set

....just looking for a pattern...

similar thread in 'freesat' forum .in addition to multiple rescans my epg is only populating for 6 hours or so and not all channels at that; its really irritating; come on bobcat talk to us;whats going and when will it be resolved?

Watching Movies4Men is like Channel 5 back in the day, especially at night But the picture quality is awful, like watching beat up VHS prints.

Anyway, in an update I wish they'd have an option to change the orientation of the EPG to make it easier to read. Landscape is annoying and Portrait would be each easier (my freeview EPG does this).

Possibly not quite what your after but if you press the 'Guide' button follwed by the green button this will give a Portrait view of a single channel.

I tried the suggested method of turning off the Humax via the switch at the back and waiting five minutes before rebooting. This prevented the retune screen appearing last night and again this morning, so I am hoping this proves to be a permanent cure.

It seems that mine has now stopped prompting for re-scans. Noticed it switched on at 6PM (its set on time) and did not prompt for a re-scan. Just put it in standby (left for a minute) and then switched it back on and no prompt.

I haven't done anything that I know of to stop it prompting me. Anyone else?

I did a manual rescan yesterday, to see if that would stop all the prompts. Haven't received any today - but can't tell whether that's because they've now stopped for everyone or because of the manual scan.

We know it is. What we are trying to establish is:-

1. Why it only appears to affect Humax receivers?
2. Why it only affects some Humax receivers and whether there is any common settings between those affected and not affected?
3. Why some users who did have the rescan on every boot now appear not to have it (and have not done anything i.e. me) whilst other users still do?
