BBC have been economising and my FAV channel of 'Oxford'
has obviously been closed down for some weeks
as we get 'South' instead..
perhaps the multitude of regional outputs is a thing of the past?
Whilst watching 'South' nee 'Oxford' this morning..
i have been rewinding the channel and when then viewed..
there are the Sub-Titles in Bold Blue colour..
I certainly was surprised.. Anyone else experienced this phenomena?

Stan
PS i noticed on some of Graham's excellent analysis
mention of regional variations such as 'Thames Valley'..
Did they dis-appear without trace?

Yep I have the same problem. If I do a live rewind then I get sub-titles. If i press the sub-title button then it says not available in this mode. Seems no way of turning it off.

This is a known issue and some people have had success by going into the menu and selecting 'settings' > 'language' > 'subtitle display' and then toggling from disable to enable and back to disable.

I have done the "toggle" & system reset since the last firmware update on my HDR, and still get this problem sometimes. Usually on BBC News channel.

I usually end up putting the info-pane up as it is less distracting!

The only way I found of fixing this (even after the firmware update that was supposed to fix it) was to perform a Factory reset. I believe this has cured the problem for me.

I never had this problem until the November release. After reading numerous other threads on the subject, and much trial and error, I seem to have fixed it.

This is what I did:
1. Do a factory reset.
2. Select a channel that gives you the problem.
3. Turn on subtitles.
4. Turn off the Humax
5. Turn on the Humax
6. Turn off subtitles
7. Turn off the Humax
8. Turn on the Humax
9. Repeat steps 2-8 for every channel that gives you the problem.

Hope it works for you. Hope it stays working for me.

I've just had this problem on ITV with Midsomer Murders.

I rewinded a few mins and when it played I had subtitles.

First times I've seen it happen.

I'll try the method above and see if it helps.

Try pressing OK twice. It works on BBC channels
