got this phone last week and thought the internet setup would be as simple as clickin it on and it charging me seems not.

got these 3 messages as soon as i got the phone about prepay mms and they say install on them, i take it these are linked to internet on the phone in some way.
looked at the wee guide book and tried from that but it isnt exactly the easiest of instructions

is there just straightforward instructions for all phones to connect to the internet, or are they all different?

Its not clear from your posts what you are trying to do and what is or isn't happening.
You need to tell us exactly what you want to do, what you have done already and exactly what error messages you get. It also helps to tell us who your service provider is.
Once we have the details I'm sure someone can help.

spoke to a few people and after that thinking its because i avent adjusted my tarriff yet to unlimited internet and unlimited messages for £15 month as at the moment i have it for calls and messages only, but i thought i would be able to access the internet on a paying as you use it basis but obviously not.

only got the phone 2 weeks ago and as it was half way through the month the guy in carphone warehouse said he would just wait and make sure it went through in February, so more or less just need to wait for that to come through so i can adjust the tariff settings

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting this phone. Does it do the basics.

1. Good call quality
2. Good ringtone volume
3. Easy to navigate
4. Good battery life.

thanks
Paul.

Hello Paul. Have a look here.

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_s5560-2989.php

Pretty good review. Only thing that I've noticed different is that the FM radio is not stereo. Also, on ours - my son has one too - short sound drop outs when listening to Youtube for example (we both connect using the wifi feature). I wonder does anyone else experience these sound drop outs?

Hi,

The only problem with reviews is they concentrate on all the extra features, and rarely mention battery life, ringtone volume and call quality, which are the basics of a mobile phone.
You have the phone, does it perform these to a good standard.

thanks
Paul.

Fortunately, gsmarena do proper reviews. They even measure audio quality, frequency response, ring volume etc etc. They have yet to do a review of that phone though.

battery life, ringtone volume and call quality
Paul.
Hello again.

My assessment of these functions would, of necessity, be purely objective and I am no expert, believe me. Best to wait for the GSMarena full review, I think, if you can. All I can say is that the items you mention seem satisfactory to me, although battery drain does appear to be high when wifi is switched on. As I said the only thing I take issue with is the sound drop outs when connected to internet.

Hi,
Reviews are one thing. A person who has the phone and says " i keep missing calls because when its in my pocket my jeans muffle the ringtone". Thats what i'm after.

I did test the ringtone in CPW yesterday, if you cover the speaker its nearly silent. I ain't one of those that walks around with it in my hand, or has it on my desk at work.

if i insert a memory card into this phone should i then be able to store more messages?

i have at the moment got a memory card in it but that does not seem to be the case, but then maybe i need to change some of the options for this to work?
