TBH - the choreography tonight seemed to have been dreamed up by setting up dances for random people, then picking the couples out of a hat.
Why did Mikey get the personality routine, when it's Gary who is finding it hard to stand outuld've learnt more by having to act a specific part in Cecilia. Mikey can seemingly sell a performance with any song; if they had made the routine more complicated he could've danced to Danny (hell, Danny could've danced to a more complicated routine than that!)
Why did Kieran get given an overly rhythmic routine which resulted in him focusing more on that and losing out on skating and lifting? Easy would've allowed him to focus on developing his skating and lifting skills with a simpler method.
Why did Tana get the fast routine when she's still hasn't got a grip on basic skating, while Danny gets a slow, simple routine that couldn't show any development whatsoever for him?
Why did Heather get a routine which was going to damage her artifical leg (I can't believe Heather didn't warn them this could be an issue) while Emily got a routine which was relatively easy on the legs? Admittedly, it would have to have been made slightly more complex for Heather.
For me, the only three couples who got the right routine tonight were Sharron and Pavel, Daniella and Matthew and Dr. Hilary and Alexandra.”
Or with some slightly different grounds
Why did Tana get one that moved to new moves so fast that she was just settling into the right facial expression by the time the next move started. Acting was her weakness so that hardly helped. Slower music and fewer moves might have got her there.
Why did Sharon get a 70s theme in a swimming costume - what on earth story was she meant to tell?
Heather's routine was obviously not right for her although I htought it had lots of hard good moves in it compared to most of the boys who were just told to skate around a lot.
Kieron drew the big lift with the weakest physique but Gary's routine was duller because he had none.
Daniella is pretty capable - do they put too much in because she can do it - compare her routine to any of the boys for difficulty. Hayley had the spinning'balance issue - so she got non stop spinning. They seem to overcram her routines too - as if they have a quota of wow moves to fill. They also did her a disservice by teling her to do a cheesy 70s number only a week after they congratulated her for looking non cheesy - some voters may get confused.
Emily gets wierd routines every week. She gets a difficult overhead lift or two because she can do them. Then its some difficult ground move she can't do. For the umpteenth time instead of showing she can skate - which she has shown she can do in odd moments - they also threw in another one of the lifts where she is carried around being held under her arms. Its as if they can't be bothered and throw in the same move every week to fill the time. It just creates the wrong impression.
Agree Daniella had the best fit and Danny was needlessly dull . Hillary's was only right in the sense that if you have someone who can't do more than just move thats all they should do - dull and content free understates the tedium. Sharon's routine fitted the music but her (un)dress didn't and her face didn't have anything to act, so she acted nothing much.
