I can't understand why Tescos would do something so stupid. Any supermarket that chucked me out for wearing the 'wrong' clothing would lose my money forever unless I was truly indecent.
Surely anyone else would just go to a different supermarket too.

Hehehe, I am of the same opinion they shouldn't ban it and are going to find it hard to enforce the ban (although they are doing pretty well with the Hoody ban) I personally don't like it but I am not saying it should be banned just wondered what others thought about it - but it seems to be a localised issue
What is that aban on wearing the hood in store or a ban on the entire garment? If it's the latter then that's just stupid.

Well in a lot of shopping centres you are not allowed to wear a hoody top with your hood up. They have done this to stop violence and youths terrorising people apparently I have been told to take my hood down when I was joking through the local shopping centre on my way home.

Sorry I didn't mean They as in Tesco I just meant they Banned Hoodies (it was in the news over a year ago or so I think)from many public shopping places

It is so bizarre that this is even a subject of debate!

Can't see that it's any more unhygenic than somebody walking in off the street whose just spent 10 hrs working in a fish market
There's nothing unhygienic about working with food. Quite the opposite, in fact.

or a solicitor whose been sitting in a sweaty suit in an office all day
Is this something that I've missed with regards to solicitors? Are they notoriously sweaty people or something?

- or indeed the child in front of you sitting in the trolley with a pooey nappy.
I would hope that you are not getting that close to stranger's kids for this one to matter.

Nothing at all? You've never met a fish worker (despite living in Aberdeen) whose overalls were covered in fish guts? I wasn't talking about shop workers - there are plenty different food workers who wouldn't necessarily have have spick and span clothing before they went into Tesco - potato pickers, chicken factory workers, farmers etc

My O/H goes in smothered in Diesel and grease - Tesco (or anybody else for that matter) have never told him to get out of the shop because he's unhygenic.

It was merely a reference to somebody sitting in a suit in a warm office for most of the day - obviously I should have just stated most office/indoor workers for the pedants.

You don't have much choice when you're in a supermarket about how close other people's children can get to you but I've been close enough to have a brat or two smear their snotty hands on my shopping so it's not much of a stretch to figure there's other stuff that goes along with the snot.

I worked in fish for 8 year. I was always clean. My workplace was always clean.

I work in an office all day and have never once left sweaty, dirty or in any other way unhygienic.

Unless you are sticking your head in the pram, there is no way that it would affect you, or even be noticeable.

If they are dirty, then it's for other reasons than the ones you gave.

Of course it is. In the history of supermarkets in the UK there's never been any unclean fish worker, sweaty solicitor or pooey baby in Tesco

You're not doing yourself any favours here. Of course there have been. They're not dirty because they are... in fact, forget it

People are actually kicking up a fuss about not being allowed to wear pj's in a supermarket? Is it really so hard to put on regular clothes when you go out? I've been doing that my whole life and haven't busted a hernia changing clothes twice a day.

Have some people just lost the plot or are they just desperate to have a moan about something? It's like those kids I see walking down the street with their trousers hanging round their knees - like showing off their underwear is somehow cool. Good god man, GET A BELT!

I mean, am I the crazy one or something - thinking that underwear should be worn under your clothes and that sleepwear should be worn when you are sleeping?

You chose to single out my post and pick it apart. I think it was relatively obvious that all I was doing was pointing out that there are other things just as 'unhygenic' as people in their PJ's and the ones I mentioned weren't beyond the improbable either.

Why couldn't you have just said that then? Instead, you chose to clump huge groups of people together and target them as dirty.

Aaah, I get it now - you're offended because I said fish worker? I'm well aware that people who work in fishmongers are spotless but that's not the same as somebody straight off the boat or a dockside worker is it? Tesco were the ones who clumped a group of people together and targetted them as dirty - all I was doing was pointing out that there are also other people who are dirty who go into their stores.

No, didn't see that. Was that the same show that had some woman who never washed her bras?

I'm just upset that when I popped to tesco's for a pint of milk in my hot air balloon the other day, there were no parking facilities available, so I had to go elsewhere.

I wasnt in my Pj's though.
I couldn't find a parking space for the hot air balloon the other day either, I need to have words with that Faye Ripley should I meet her at some point...

And as gf and I don't wear or even own PJ's could we walk around Tesco in the buff (avoid the freezer aisle) as technically we comply with their 'no nightwear' policy. Or does nothing class as nightwear....

I think the world has just gone mad with everything

Whatever next

Will we have to wear chemical suits and masks just to pop to the shops for a pint of milk for contamination reasons

Wear cotton gloves to pick up the fresh veg, wash our hands as we go into a shop just like we do in Hospitals

I don't wear PJs to go shopping and i doubt if i ever will

But what makes people so superior to tell other people what to wear to go shopping,if people want to wear their PJs to go shopping that is up to them and their choice only it don't make them bad people does it

As the old saying goes don't judge a book by it's cover and i think there is some truth in that saying.

What will the yes men/women think up next
............................. to be continued

So to prove that Tesco are wrong with what they did, you went and did the exact same thing? Well done.
