I don't think Sharron can ever be accused of lacking backbone - as you would know had you ever emulated the achievements she reached in her field of expertise.

An international athlete doesn't deliver medals at all levels of competition by being spineless. The only faeces I saw last night was sitting slap, bang in the middle of the judges panel.

Re the claim that complaints are an overreaction -- no, it's more a last straw. It's not a reaction to this one incident: it's being fed up with his obnoxious, unconstructive comments and with the way they've been getting worse.

What does he actually bring to the show? Most of his suggestions and complaints are about relatively unimportant performance details.

I thought it was hysterical, part of the fun is Jason's bitchy comments. ITV have been blatantly recapping his comments at the start of each weeks show. People need to lighten up!

The producers should simply avoid asking him for his comments after the individual performances. WE know that the main reason he marks so out of kilter with the others is so that he will be asked why (and we KNOW he just doesn't rate certain couples no matter what they do) - so don't pander to his ego. Ignore him and ask Robin for his expert comments as often as they have been going to Jason - and leave the performance comments to Baby Spice

I asked a couple of the pro skaters on twitter and they said that they and the celebs have absolutely no say in costume design, it's entirely down to the wardrobe department.

As for being offensive - where is the insult in my comments? Sharron Davies is one of the most successful swimmers this country has ever produced - and could not have achieved her goals by whinging and lacking guts. Like all international athletes she trained long and hard from a very young age to achieve success. She's had to face disappointment and come back fighting, - and I reiterate my opinion that had you achieved similar success you would withdraw your allegation that she lacks backbone.

Now where is the insult in that?

As for my comment on Jason, would it have been more acceptable had I responded to the 'faeces' remark with the riposte 'It takes one to know one!' It seems to me trading insults is the only language he understands.

We should send him a copy of Charles Kingsley's Water Babies, with particular reference to Mrs. BeDoneByAsYouDid - though I doubt if he would understand the principle of 'you reap as you sow.'

1. I did not say your post was ridiculous because I disagreed with your opinion, I said it was ridiculous because you were trying to be offensive to me (your "as you would know etc remark) while complaining about someone being offensive.

2. I made no remark about about SD having a backbone during her swimming career - I was very obviously talking about her trying to develop one for DoI. She has had a couple of comments directed at her she didn't like - so what! She seems to go into melt down at the drop of a hat. JG's comments are often stupid (although he often gets it right as well) - but that is all they are, why the hell is she behaving as if she morally assaulted - frankly she should be delighted he was "mean" to her, otherwise she may already have gone.

3. And to complain about someone using a faeces remark - then use an equally asinine one in your own post is, well, silly.

I don't watch any Idol programmes.

I admit that originally I thought he said foetal and then worked out he said faecial. All in all his comments are too personal and not constructive. If ITV keep him it really shows them for what they are trying to do (contentious TV to get ratings) and they really do not need to do it.

Someone needs to boot his smarmy jacksie all the way back to Oz.
