While the comments are completely bad and stupid, I doubt its worth getting the sack over, public apology live on the show should be the direction taken.

Presumably Jason made the comment (as he makes all such comments) knowing it would cause controversy. If so, he's acheived his objective and then some.

I found the remark distasteful primarily because it's such a revolting image and not one I would expect to be wheeled out as an analogy on a family show. I don't much care what the sentiments behind the remark were (although I don't see the need to get personal), I simply don't want a judge on this type of show comparing any aspect of it to unflushable crap; I don't think it fits the genre.

This is not Mock the Week Jason and you are not Frankie Boyle's replacement.

Apart from anything else, Frankie Boyle's irreverancies were, in the main, funny. This wasn't.

I agree with sickpuppy21. He should make a public apology in the next show and as Sharron is still competing, she should witness the apology. If Jason can't do that, then he must go. To me this was a personal derogatory remark taken too far and once too often.

That's the biggest problem with Jason to be honest. He thinks he's funny, but most of the time he just isn't.

jason has just tweeted that he has something important to say on This Morning today. I wonder what it could be

He did apologise and people still call him smug.

I agree Jason went too far on Sunday but I don't think he should be fired. I'd like to see that he's learned his lesson by dialling back his style of criticism a bit.

It's all publicity I think.... I've been called worse things.

OFFS he was insulting the costume, not Sharron herself. The comment was a step too far, but get some perspective on it please

Edited to add: another public apology on next weeks show would just drag it out. what would be the point?

On "This Morning" he's admitted it was her performance he was criticising. It was Sharron's movements as they appeared to him in that particular costume, not just the costume.

You're right. Let's not drag out the controversy any more. Sack the waste-of-space bully and have done with it.

I sent my first complaint to Ofcom about this, and in it I added that in any other workplace his comments would be seen as direct harassment and he would be disciplined. I don't understand why he should get away with it just because he's in 'showbiz'.

yes he apologised, he said (something like):

"I would like to apologise to Sharron and the people I have offended with my remarks..."

i can't remember the exact wording, but it seemed genuine...i don't know what else he can do

he won't be sacked, he's one of the reasons that people watch this show, the public like it when there's a Mr Nasty character - so they can boo him !

Love the pic on the link - not. Perhaps, however, following on from this, a job advertising Mr Muscle toilet cleaner might be an idea? If only I was in advertising.

How ironic. He needs the toilet cleaner to clean his mouth and his brain before spewing comments about unflushable faecal matter!!!

In fairness he did say he was sorry for any offence he caused Sharron and others, but it was IMO a qualified apology in that he then went on to say it wasn't personal but her performance he was criticising (although personally I'd find it difficult to separate the two!)

This was posted at the time it happened so I don't really care about it anymore, and thats what he did call her, how have I not got perspective on it?

Yes I entirely agree. ITV should flush him away. Even the most stubborn floater disappears down the pan eventually.
