and then Mikey came out to skate.

The quality of the 'talent' this year is awful!

there's only 3 or 4 semi decent skaters!

Not a patch on last year.

Mikey, Daniella, Gary - best we have. And they are not that great.

Last year there was only 3 - Jessica, Ray and Zoe

Donal wasn't great to start with but grew throughout the series.

I would say 'm enjoying this year so much more, mainly because its close + there's about 5-6 really good skaters

I actually enjoy watching Mikey and Daniella better than Ray though. I like to see the celebs progressing not just coming out as brilliant on day one and never changing thereafter

Not really, she's carried most of the time, just very confident and has a good friendship with her partner.

I disagree. I think that whilst this year there are more bad ones than last year, I also think that there are more good ones.

A lot of last years were very much average, and also, at least this year theres some sort of competition. Last year we all knew Ray Quinn had won from the first episode.. I see no appeal when the main question for that week is if someone gets a 29 or a 30

They only had one last year. Donal wasn't as good as 4 boys this year and there are two girls better than any last year helped by the fact they are not too tall. last year they couldn't get a competitive final anyway they tried and the public made things even less of a race by ending the race for second. This year there's at least 4 people who could win and Hayley isn't far off 3 previous winners on her marks.

I actually think this year is better than last year because there are a lot of people who are real contenders, rather than one or two (mostly one really... Ray) obvious winners. Tonight wasn't the best example because a lot of them didn't skate at their best.

Series 3 is my favourite. Chris was very good but not so good that he didn't need to improve, and Suzanne ended up being brilliant.

I like this series more than last year,as its a close contest between a selection of the skaters.

Hayley Tammadon did well tonight, she stumbled on the required element but I thought she was good.

Mikey was quality and I liked Daniellas performance. gary Lucy also impressed me!

With regards to the rest i wasn't that thrilled!, it's pretty painful to watch in truth

'Carried most of the time'- you are obviously not watching, she skated on her own more tonight than the rest of them put together.

I'm actually quite pleased that there isn't one clear front runner for a change.

It makes things less predictable.

Agree with those who are liking this year's more because of the competition.

Hayley may have been top so far but she's not that much better than the likes of Mikey & Daniella. I think that a top 4 is starting to emerge but Danny & Kieron still have the capability to catch them up again.

I think it's sometimes a little dangerous comparing with previous year's as you always think of them at the end of the competition whereas this year we are only in week 3 if you disregard the boy/girl only weeks.

Really? Danny, Kieron, Mikey, Gary, Daniella and Hayley are all good imo. Heather surprisingly good, a few other good "middlers" then a large group of dossers who need to be culled.

I feel the opposite about the competition, barring an injury it looks like a foregone conclusion to me that Mikey will win.

Mikey is very popular & this combined with him being a good skater will help of course. I think he will probably get to the semis at least but if 1 or 2 others start to get ahead then he might not get the votes come the final. There are still 8 weeks left.

Hayley has the support of the divas plus unlike a lot of his previous partners she can really skate so that will be a difficult combination to beat. Also, Daniella seems really popular too & has really won over a lot of people.

She certainly wasn`t carried along tonight.

I think this years' competition is certainly a lot closer, no Ray-type frontrunner yet, which is making it much more entertaining to watch, in my opinion.

Hope so, she's my favourite, but from the insider betting patterns it looks like she isn't get a big vote.
And I just think Mikey beats Hayley in popularity and so wins.

ITV are cocking things up a bit really imo.

It is early days I guess.

Agree with what you say. If I had to predict a winner at this early stage I'd say Hayley. I like watching her, she really can skate and she gives 100%. And yes, both Mikey and Daniella are very good and very popular, so could make it to the final.

Hayley, Daniella and Mikey are excellent. Gary and Danny are good, Kieron's not bad - I think there's enough talent this year.

Much as I'd love this to be the case, I dont agree at all. Mikey is a good skater and has the personality and fanbase to get him far but I don't think it'll guarantee him the win, anything could happen in the coming weeks.

I'm definitely appreciating the openness of the competition on the show, there's a front four couples and I think any of them could win - I would've included Danny in that but seems he might not have the public vote after this evening.

Very true - Week four Chris Fountain was a clear front runner on here and look what happened to him

Its nice for a change to see all the contestants start off at more or less the same level and to see how some progress more than others. As opposed to having one or two that has already had skating experience in previous years.
