I think these two must be getting through mainly on looks as they are a very good-looking couple

Having said that, I was still pretty surprised that Emily wasn't in the bottom two

I think Fred was surprised too - he looked genuinely astounded not to be in the skate-off!

Am I the only person who doesn't think she's all that gorgeous? Tana's way prettier.

He said on Twitter he was sure they would be in the skate off.

I'm sure you're right....but would Emily still be in the show if she didn't look good?

I totally agree that Emily shouldn't be judged or criticised because she looks pretty, it is neither her fault nor to her credit, just luck of the draw.
On the other hand should she get extra votes because of it? I guess people vote to keep in those they want to see again, but somehow it seems a shame that those with greater talent and application to the task should lose out simply on the grounds that they are less physically attractive.

He wasn't the only one!

I really hope she shows signs of improvement this week, but I fear I may be disappointed. Not sure if it's just down to ability or practice levels with her, or whether she has issues with the live shows.

I seem to remember reading somewhere before the live shows started , that she'd fallen over on stage as a child in front of a large audience and that it had a negative effect on her. She has mentioned experiencing nerves on the show.

Well she needs to get over it! She has the potential to be better than at least Dr. Hilary, I just wish she'd give a better performance. As an actress she need to put a bit more emphasis on that, it'd make her skating look a little better!

Talent is also just luck of the draw.

Re application, I am suspicious when a show seems to be trying to make us believe a contestant isn't taking it seriously enough, especially when we're so often told that it's important to enjoy the experience.

Emily entered a reality show which is about learning a skill, as a viewer I don't mind if contestants have fun with it as long as they are doing what they signed up for. Afterall if all they want to do is be on tv and have fun and not learn theres plenty of other shows that they could go on.

Hello

She has a very sexy forehead. I would call it bulbous.

And I like bulbous heads.

The rest is immaterial.

Agreed, although talent is only a starting point and requires effort to develop basic talent into mastery of a skill.
Basically I guess I am a little sad that we live in a society which values appearance over ability. Appearance just is, whereas ability has the potential to allow its possessor to do things and achieve things of real value. Ok, so DoI isn't exactly earth shatteringly important, but voting based on appearance does rather suggest a slightly sad value system.
