We've just finished decorating the hall (cream and silver) and have realised that our UPVC mahogany coloured door sticks out like a sore thumb.

I know you can get doors which are different colours internal and external (it still need to be mahogany outside) but before we resort to the expense of changing the door we were going to give it a go at painting the internal side of the door white.

My dad reckons I'd be mad to try so before I do just wanted to know if anyone else has tried this with success or has anyone used UPVC primer before painting any type of UPVC.

cheers

Hello moogie,

What you need to use is an Easy Surface Prep' for UPVC.

I have painted UPVC before, my efforts for the most have been satisfactory with a few bloody awful disasters in between, even my best efforts with in a few months, a pigs ear.

There are several ESP brands on the market, there is one called ESP, which I have used a lot for all sorts of prep work, give em' a call, see what they advise.

Another brand, Owatrol ESP, some swear by this, I don't.

But there is a product by Promain UK who are the manufactures of Bedec Multi Surface Paint, I have used this product before and achieved some excellent results and it comes in many colours, phone them too, see what they advise.
Good luck.
