LNB and Recording Problem?
I was never happy with the reception I was getting on my Humax HDR.
I could not get great reception on Bloomberg many other channels When CNBC started I could not get it at all, just a broken picture . Someone suggested I check the LNB and I then discovered there was no Skew adjustment at all. After putting in approx 17 degree change, Bingo I was getting 80% strength and 100% quality signal and I could now view all the Freesat channels. Just goes to show how important the Skew adjustment is. A new problem has surfaced. When Recording, say C4+1 every channel not on that transponder shows 0% strength and 0% quality, and the picture, while just viewable, breaks up and “SHORT LNB” shown on screen. As soon as recording stops all channels again showing 100% quality. I tried adjusting the LNB again but could not get any improvement. Now I can record perfectly on one channel, but cannot view any channel on another transponder Help!!

It sounds as if the 2nd feed is not working. What signal strength and quality does diagnostics show for the 2nd tuner (assuming you have the latest firmware)

Thanks Graham, you were spot on. Tuner 2 giving 0/0%
I just fiddled around with the loop and it sprung back to life both now showing 80% strength and 100% quality. Where would we be without you! |
