I'm among those who wasn't offended by what Jason said. I'm more offended it kept Sharron out of the skate off. I'm with those who think ITV will be loving all this.

Jason has got just what he wanted.......publicity. THAT is why he says this ridiculous things and believe me it is SCRIPTED. WHY doesn't one of the celebs, not one of the celebs, confront him because they know it is part of the show. We had the Friday night programme announce that Sharon was going to face Jason and it was nothing. No confrontation at all, just Sharon mumbling about how upset her daughter was. Until the competitors tell the producers to STOP the dramatics and concentrate on the skating and dancing this sort of nonsense will keep happening. Just like the judges "battles" on X Factor and the "romances" and battles on Strictly. It is treating the public like idiots but it seems to work. Look at the headlines and comments just Jason's remark has achieved for him!! Also the contestants who are critised by Jason get more telephone votes-------i.e. more more for ITV!!!!

Well Mrs Ramsey is no longer in the show thereby has absoluely nothing to lose regarding her comments about Jason. It is scripted, the whole thing is a publicity stunt to generate viewers and it is all a con from beginning to end. If the contestants are so upset about Jason SAY SOMETHING AT THE TIME. They all know what is coming I am sure as there is a dress rehearsal for the show and everything is timed to the last minute. It is called SHOWBUSINESS after all. No standards anymore and then they are surprised when our kids bully each other in the playground after seeing Jason, Simon and Co in action on the telly.

They know what he is like so why do they keep asking him back year after year? He spoils the show.

I agree with the comments people have made about him spoiling the show. It's not pleasant viewing, all that booing and vile remarks. It is unnecessary, whatever happened to light entertainment? This is an early evening weekend show, not Jackass. The show has degenerated in my humble opinion, it's like the skaters are on in between the judges, and the focus has all turned to the panel now. Ridiculous.

I wouldn't waste a penny voting on it either, I'm not lining ITVs coffers any more if this is the only rubbish they can put out.

If it was a stunt, Sid, I can't work out what they hoped to gain other than column inches. Having everyone tutting about it isn't going to help the ratings, is it?

This is the problem I face - while I'd really like to show ITV what I think of them, I can't think of a way to do it that would make an iota of difference to their thinking.

It probably will in reality, unfortunately. That's the way these things usually work. Same as with the X Factor - every controversy makes more people tune in...

And there we have the problem with modern society. Why would you tune in to watch that kind of stupidity? I know why I tune in and it has nothing to do with Jason Gardiner.

He's just apologised on This Morning, straight to camera, saying he only commeted on what he saw on the performance and in no way was directing the comments at Sharron herself.

Then he gave a nice smug grin.

I've watched the clip again of him criticising Sharon, and he did weave his nasty remarks to the way Sharon dance. Not to say that excuse him for using the colour of her dress to practically call her 'sh1t' of course...

But, unfortunately, it's the way these shows work. Create some controversy, get people talking and compel them to tune in next week for the next installment of drama...

But that's not why I tune in! I bet that's not why any of us on here tune in! I tune in to watch some skating by some people in cool costumes! How can I convince ITV that I am not keeping their ratings alive because of the Wicked Witch of the Panel?

I tune in for the same reasons and it's obvious we are not alone. I admit the panel might benefit with a character to brighten it up. Just not this one.

But there will be a lot of viewers who love all the (contrived) disharmony amongst the judges and the controversial comments that come out of Jason's mouth and the celebs and skaters' reactions to them......they will find it entertaining.

I don't like the tone and content of some of his remarks to the contestants, and in these recent incidents, those directed at two of the women are particularly objectionable. It is completely unacceptable to address comments in the terms he has to Sharron Davies and Tana Ramsay. Is he a misogynist?

The programme could dispense with him quite easily. He doesn't enhance it at all. He is just plain nasty, without wit or style or insight. A cheap attention seeker. But he should not be on the TV getting the attention he craves at the expense of women whom he chooses to insult and bully by virtue of his position. His so-called apology was cheap and unpleasant as well, leaving a nasty whiff of insincerity and disdain.
