Moving Files into Folders on USB1

Does anyone know if it`s possible to move a lot of same named files into one folder on the external HDD.
I have quite a few Taggarts and Rebus files floating about on my 1.0 TB external hard drive and would like to put them into two named folders to keep everything tidy. I`ve tried the conventional way but it only seems to work on the Humax HDD, not on the external drive. Any CLEAR instructions would be appreciated.
Thanks for any suggestions.

It's not possible to move files into folders using just the hdr on the usb drive.

AFAIK there are only 3 ways

Create the folder manually on the usb drive and open it, copy the files from the internal hdd to the folder

Copy files without copy protection back to the internal hdd and do as above

Connect the drive to a linux PC and move them that way

Thanks for the advice Graham. I did it the Linux way as there a lot of files but now the folders are in place on the USB it will be easy in future.
Thanks again.
