2012 Post here if you liked the film
I saw this last week and really liked it.
The FX was really good. I did like Independence Day and The day After Tomorrow more but this is still a fun film to watch. Which would get a 7 from me.

It was a switch your brain off type movie. I think some people too it far too seriously and that's why it got bad reviews. It wasn't meant to be anything other than a big destruction film I don't think. It wasn't about how this family were able to

The effects were good but theres only so many times you can watch an aircraft escape a rolling cloud of ash.

I enjoyed it too! It certainly kept me entertained, I agree too it wasn't supposed to be taken seriously cos its a disaster movie!...it was made purely for entertainment value at the end of the day...john cusack was funny even in the disaster scenes and the actor who plays the crazy guy he was hilarious aswell...there were sad bits...I do think it deserved a nom for the SFX in the film, cos it was breathtaking and amazing to look at visually....its definately one of those films where u can switch off and enjoy it!

I enjoyed it for what it was. It was never going to be lauded as a classic with too many cliches etc. There aren;t many end of the world films that will go down as movie classics and while 2012 isn't one of them it's certainly an enjoyable film that I'll be watching again when the DVD comes out. I liked it and stand by liking it.

I was dreading it as I hate fantasy, but was dragged along to see it. I was surprised that I not only enjoyed it, but didn't look at my watch once to see how long left there was!
I'd describe it (and I think I did on another thread) as 'enjoyable nonsense'. |

Dragged on a bit for me, but overall enjoyed it especially the action and special effects.

Thought the special effects were amazing jawdropping on the big screen and why no nominations for special effects? suprised by that..overall very good...only critisism was the lead male john cussack ...could have been better with abig star like WillSmith ,Dennis Quaid or Harrison Ford type ...but otherwise ,as is often said on here, brainless good movie fun!

Big blockbuster movies tend to spend most of their budget on the special effects, getting an actor like Will Smith or Harrison Ford will eat up a lot of the budget, or if he takes a percentage in gross, eat up a lot of their profits.

I enjoyed it, it was far-fetched but it was entertaining. I've heard it's not as good the second time around though.
