I want to set up some none Freesat channels (i,e Luxe HD) but don't know the settings for them. Can someone give me that site where all the settings are available please?
Is it SatKing or something? I need the URL and also which channels can I add to my Grundig DVR?

Thanks GG

I normally Google "Flysat" which was recommended to me by someone on here (grahamlthompson if memory serves correctly)!

That site always seems to have the right up to date info for what I want in Non-Freesat mode (Astra1+Astra2 channels).

From me, you're welcome!

I love how this part of the forum is the best place for any help/information but some of the other forums end up having massive rows and shoutyness. Like two different worlds.

Granny you may be, but I don't even understand your original question! How do you gain access to these non-FreeSat channels in the first place? Does it mean you have a dish rotator to turn the dish to face other satellites? Seems very advanced stuff to me!

(PS I've just noticed from Graham's links that I can already get broadcasts from both Astra (28.2E) and Eurobird (28.5E) satellites. How come, given I have an ordinary (ex-)Sky dish?)

Thanks for the compliment! So you knew what he meant! Because they must both be accessable from a Sky set up dish. I have been able to get both and mine was installed for Freesat.

All the UK channels come from a group of satellites that are so close in orbit that they are received by a single dish.

One satellite is called Eurobird 1 and is owned by Eutelsat orbits roughly 22000 mls above the equator at longitude 28.5deg E.

The others owned by SES-Astra currently consist of 3 satellites (normally 4 but one is temporarily relocated) at 28.2E. Astra 2A, 2B and 2D. All the UK PSB transmissions on the freesat epg are transmitted on the UK focussed Astra 2D narrow beam.

The freesat epg (together with ITV 1 HD) is on a 28.5 transponder

So how do you access these non-FreeSat channels? Is it manual tune and then you put in the channel details and then you can get a new channel? And what sort of channels are available, anything worthwhile, or is it just +1 variations on what we already have?

You don't say what box you are using. If it's a Humax you choose manual tune and then you can dial in an individual transponder or do a full scan of all of them. This leaves your box in non-freesat mode and an extra menu option to switch modes. Luxe HD is pretty but ultimately boring. On a hdr BBC HD is handy for recording unencyrpted BBC HD. The rest is generally rubbish though.

On the Grundig, once you know the settings, you just input them, then it finds the channels at that setting. In my case I then deleted most of them just kept Luxe HD (for showing off purposes to visitors) Sky News, Travel, and Sky Travel, not much I know.
