The manual can be downloaded from Pure's web site. It's got most of the answers you need... LINK

For the internet side of things you're going to need to use your PC to set up "The Lounge" which is Pure's way of gathering content providers in to on accessible portal. (see manual for more info)

Once you have done that then you'll need a wireless enabled internet connection to get streaming content to the radio. The radio has support for WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless security.

If you want the Evoke Flow to play music stored on your PC it can do that too. Again, this is done via The Lounge.

Have a read of the manual. It's comprehensive and clearly written.

No it isn't. It is used by utilising the media streaming built into Windows media player or a network attached storage device (NAS) with suitable media streaming software installed.
There is however a piece of software available from the lounge site called Flowserver should any of your devices not have the required software installed.

a NAS hard drive can hook up to the Netgear router and you can store all your music on it and send it to your radio as well

Yes because the Evoke Flow doesn't have a wired ethernet connection.

I dumped my Evoke Flow for a Roberts Stream 83i, the Flow's Media Player has lots of skipping issues, and it freezes regularly.

The Roberts has an ethernet socket.

The current range of pure flow devices don't support 'N' so I wouldn't spend more money on something I wouldn't use

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/2623...html?srcid=867

at £58 and future proofing yourself with 270 mbs transfer rate , its cheap and does exactly what it says on the tin.

what do you mean by "N"
the speed of file transfer rate and the frequencies the router broadcasts at

b & g 64 up to 108

N is up to 270/300

you have to make sure its b , g as well as N

the new BT homehub as far as I know is N , but only 170 in speed and no b & g

The way things are going, you would be best going wireless and at least then you can take it round the house with you.

get the Netgear DGN2000

it will do all your needs and more. Trying to stay future proof for a while is hard work, but it will last for a while.

Is it Virgin cable or Virgin ADSL?

The DGN2000 will be no good for cable.

I have an old Pure Bug as my alarm clock, and frankly it's been excellent. The quirky looks aside, it has simple features that make sense. If pure have stayed good on software design, the flow is a winner.
I've almost ordered one myself but don't actually need it.

Since you have "VM XL package" you're on Virgin cable, which means the above router is no good for you.
