rant about BT (sorry)

hi all I just felt the need to have a wee rant about BT

I moved house in Dec and have had nothing but probs trying to sort this out.

First off they messed up my bt vision and never bothered to transfer it over, now seeing i was out of contract I called them and said if that was the case then please do NOT renew it as I have a crappy communual ariel that can't get a freeview signal never mind bt vision. I was assured it was all done and sorted and not to worry. 2 weeks later I received a large bill for bt vision which thankfully I spoke to a great guy in cs and he sorted it all out but it took me about a week to get to that stage.

Anyways, got my phone bill this week, I have phone and broadband with BT and despite things i've heard i'm pretty happy with it, never had any probs until now.

Turns out some bright spark in the home move dept, cancelled my direct debit and monthly billing and moved me over to quarterly, now as a single parent, i can afford monthly billing but just can't afford a quarterly bill of over £200 a month after moving house.

Its taken me no fewer than 18 phone calls to get through to someone who could understand what I was saying but I am still not convinced this will be sorted out, time will tell I suppose.

I am just so mad that someone at BT can just push a button and delete details off their system without contacting the customer first to make sure thats what they want.
I am also incredulous at what I was told today by the person I spoke to (in an indian call centre) that it costs bt £45 each time they have to amend a bill?????!!!!!!!???? and that he was only doing it as a favour to me because I have been on monthly billing for the past 5 years!!!!!!

sorry just had to have a bit of a rant about it feel a little better now but not hopeful that I will receive an amended monthly bill and gearing up for a battle to get it sorted.

** just wanted to add that I've had a call fromsome woman in an indian customer service call centre who says i will get monthly billing but i still have to pay 3 months line rental!!!
I give up

For a international company I can't see why this company can't send out monthly bills as well. If Sky, Virgin Media and Talk Talk can do it then why can't BT. I had a massive argument about this. They say I pay monthly, but my bill still be quarterly which is totally supid and the only way to pay monthly is by a payment card or by direct debit.

the best of it is, i have been on monthly billing with BT for the past 3 years!!!
It's only because of some stupid twit hitting the wrong button when I moved house that I have been moved onto quarterly billing!!!!

I think BT have a strict policy that no customer shall move house EVER!
