I watch sky+ upstairs as well as downstairs via a coax tv cable plugged into the back of the sky+ box. Is there a similar/same option on the freesat+ box? if not what are my options of watching the freesat+ program recordings upstairs as well as downstairs?

Thanks.

No, Freesat boxes don't have that fundtionality - but you can buy extra units that provide a similar function.

It costs £50-£70 to add this. Unfortunately for the rest of the market, sky have this one pinned down to perfection.

Morning all,

I'm in the same predicament, with a Foxsat HDR and bought one of these magic eye amd modulator kits from our friends at SatCure, for approx £85 delivered: http://www.satcure.com/accs/page14.htm#humax

It took a while to wire it all up - you'll need 2 more 240V outlets at the TV (which I originally overlooked !). One for the the modulator and one for the magic eye thingy.

Depending on your needs, you might also want another remote. I got a new HUMAX original from ebay, delivered for less than £30.

Good luck

I have just bought a Digisender from Argos for £26. It works brilliantly from my Foxsat HDR to TV upstairs. All functions operate as long as you remember to take the Humax remote upstairs! And all without having to run any wires upstairs. The picture quality is excellent. Obviously if anyone is still watching downstairs the picture will be the same. Can thoroughly recommend it.

Bargain !

I used the wired solution as the wiring was already installed, and having done a bit of forum surfing prior to deciding, I wasn't confident about senders.

Sounds like you've got a good one - hope it holds out for you.

Just checked the second remote I bought, and it wasn't ebay, but an amazon reseller, £26.98 delivered:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/HUMAX-RM-F01...=pd_rhf_shvl_1

We needed one as the downstairs TV is a different manufacturer to the upstairs TV, hence different codes.

Good luck

Every freeview pvr I have owned has an RF out to watch a tele in another room via cable.

For me it is a major oversight on freesat+ boxes.

Although a £19 RF modulator from Maplins (scart to RF) soon solved my problem. Already had the remote sender from previous freeview solutions.

As it is for many potential users, an RF modulator and 'magic eye' is now a standard feature expected by many.
