This ties in with my old argument about how ALL telly drama is set in cities (usually London), and we are only allowed to see the countryside on a Sunday night. Such a shame there's such a lack of imagination.
Generally, people on telly tend to have regional / non RP accents nowadays. It's the reverse of the old tradition of actors with cut-glass RP accents playing unconvincing Cockney.
