The Alicia Keys Appreciation Thread
With Alicia keys popularity rising over here more than usual, it's only right to honor Miss Keys with her own thread.

Awww i'm so happy for her.
Honestly i don't think anyone deserves the success she's getting right now more than she does. Its just fantastic. |

Agree with you wholeheartedly! I think she's a massively talented artist and I'm so glad more people in the UK are starting to take notice of her. Never thought I'd be grateful to the X Factor for music, but it does seem her appearance on the show got her the attention she deserves.
She also comes across as a very sweet natured person when interviewed. |

For me, she has been the best Female artist since the turn of the millenium. It's nice that's she's getting more recognition in the UK but that's surely because her recent songs are lot more mainstream.

I feel the other way round. Although her popularity is rising the quality and passion in her music (IMO) has fallen with every new album release. I don't blame her for it; she has probably been forced to change the style of her music to appeal to the mass public. In defence, her debut album was one of the best of the 00s.

Alicia keys is having more single success over here then in the U.S. Doesn't mean anything bombed. Try sleeping made the top 30 for about couple of weeks and soon dipped out.

Whole heartedly agree
She has long been one of, if not my favourite, female solo artists and I'm so glad she's finally getting the recognition she deserves. She has a beautiful voice, she's an amazing pianist and she's an all round classy lady! And 'Songs In A Minor' is one of my all-time favourite albums

Apparently, Try sleeping with a broken heart is the next single due for May
It's the best song she has done since If i aint got you for me personally. I love it. Better than the two songs already released. I hope it does well. |

Alicia is not releasing her beyonce collab as her next US single. She has pushed it back to the summer. She is releasing Unthinkable (i'm ready) which is an alright song but won't give her a hit personally.
There is a article someone on the front page of the DS to back my facts up. |

I really liked her collaboration with Jack White for the James Bond theme.

There is a article someone on the front page of the DS to back my facts up. You are right. She is releasing Unthinkable in the US and Try sleeping with a broken heart in the UK/Europe. I guess the push back of the Beyonce duet is why the video has been delayed in comming out. |

Yeah cos i was thinking the other day "when the is the video gonna be released because it was filmed like well over a month ago" and now with the article explains why.
She will probs promote Put it in a love song together as an international single in the summer. Might be easier to promote the same single all together instead of promoting one single in one country and another somewhere else like Rihanna. |
