With the Humax HDR, has anyone found a way to initiate a controlled "fast forward" in iPlayer? Clicking on the Right arrow brings up the scroll indicator with its marker, but further clicking produces random jumps in either direction.

I have tried pushing every button on the Remote, and some do initiate a forward jump, but how far it jumps seems to be completely random. I am looking for the equivalent to dragging the marker using the left mouse button on the PC version of iPlayer - which works like a dream.

I have an 8Meg broadband connection and enjoy much better iPlayer pics on the 40inch TV than I get on the PC. My only niggle is with fast forward.

I have found that the fast forward does not work.

The progress bar moves upwards as if it wants to FF, but the picture carries on in real time. Then the rotating circular dots freeze on the screen until you go back to menu and start again.

No doubt it is all part of the beta experience.

I see they have made adjustments to this from today there is a new progress bar and the position time and remaining time are shown to the right of the bar.. but it still don't work well at all. Also on the HDR box you can use the other transport buttons not just the cursor buttons, but again it doesn't work well still.

The Freesat Beta team have responded to feedback and come up with a solution which now works quite well.

Having got to the start of the chosen programme in iPlayer, a click on the right-arrow of the Humax remote brings up the time bar with its cursor at the start position. A further short press on the right arrow gets the cursor to move about +2 minutes into the programme. In parallel, the chasing circle rotates as the data stream is advanced to the new set point and the programme restarts. A longer duration press on the right-arrow, or fast forward button, results in a larger skip.

It needs a bit of practice but at least it now skips in a predictable manner. The new start time is shown in the left button at the right hand end of the time-line.
