Cats are the best. Dogs are no good. Dogs are stupid and dependent, and vicious and nasty and do dirt on the pavements. Cats are refined and independent and do their dirt in the garden and cover it up. Cats are mysterious. Dogs are bleedin' obvious.

My nan used to have a Siamese. Man, that little shit was evil. I don't think I ever managed to stroke her once without her attempting to remove my hand. My nan also had a GSD who was just about the nicest, most friendly dog ever. Where does that put your theory about dogs, huh?

I like both; I have both [two cats, one dog]. They've all got their plus and minus points.

And mine. Tough you may think this is my fault, I have 3 of the bleeding things. 2 of them are larger than your average cat, and could shit for England, if there were a contest. Honestly,

Wow, what a fantastically mature and well informed statement. You must be right. Next time I see a "stupid and dependent" guide dog or sniffer dog I'll be sure to give them a good kicking

Come and have a look at the state of mine and my neighbours flowerboxes......

Cats are mysterious. Dogs are bleedin' obvious.
.....and grass is green.
My cat is pretty obvious at feeding times and in his daily behaviour

Sorry to hear you having a bad day, hang in there, Friday is coming.

ps: yes, I have a cat and a dog and your post s clearly aimed at a bit of trolling.
Bless you

To give benefit of the doubt I think the OP was instigating a debate. Sort of Cats are better than dogs, discuss.

My 2pn'rth I have 2 cats and a dog.

I love em all. The cats are far more pushy food-wise.

Dog always wait until I offer food.

Cats hear the fridge light go on from the next street!

Dog only goes toilet when out with me (Paraphernalia at the ready).

Cats use a small section of the garden that I keep for them. (Loose soil, raked out once a week).

Do I have a preference? No. They complement each other well. The cats are definately more food lead though. (Cupboard love).

I think, are you a cat or a dog person and why? would have been a better way for the OP to put that question

and with cats you don't have to get up out of your nice warm bed when it's still very dark and very cold to take them for a walk.

and when a cat's been out on a very wet day unlike dogs they don't come in all dirty and covered in mud

only problem with cats is you might as well be talking to a brick wall when you are talking to them as they totally ignore you.

LOL - that is some thing that never ceases to amaze me both my cats can be curled up fast asleep on one of the beds upstairs but the minute you open the cupboard door where their food is kept they are instantly at you feet.

I have a cat but prefer dogs. To be honest working days I feel its not fair to have a dog. They also are a tie. For example you are out then decide you wanted to stop overnight, plus just a long day out. You can't do these things when you have a dog. Also I don't miss getting up at 6am in the morning to walk a dog before going to work. I would love a dog and my daughter would love one even more, but not at this moment in time.
Mind you my cat doesn't like going outside so litter tray and food is all we need worry about.

I think when people get a pet, it is all about what type of pet suits your circumstances and not excatly what you want.
My cat was a rescue, I had a good home to offer and she fits into our lifestyle lovely. She takes away the emptiness of a dog not being around and also deters us from ever falling soft getting another dog.

that's cirtainly true I wouldn't mind a dog but being disabled I simply wouldn't be able to walk it and clean it so a cat is much better for me.
