It has just occurred to me. Has Jason Gardiner got a work visa for the UK? If he hasn't he would be deported.

I seem to remember that an Indian actor had a UK work visa for a particular West End show and then appeared in Eastenders and was deported because his visa was for one particular job.

Then I think there was an investigation into whether or not Australian Craig Revel Horwood's marriage and divorce was a sham to get British citizenship so he could work here or if he should be sent back to Australia.

Oh, if only he's working illegally!

It's the same with CRH on SCD, these comments up the ratings and that is all they care about. Morals, political correctness, integrity and decency only get a look in if the ratings demand it.

Yes, I think in the short-term, viewing figures will increase but he's seriously damaging the credibility of the show and in the long term (i.e. towards the end of the series and next series if there is one) viewers will diminish.

Then why has he apologised. I doubt ITV want's a cycle of insult and apology every week.


It's not the same as Craig on SCD. Craig is less insulting, much more constructive, and gets respect for the consistency of his marking.

The problem with Jason isn't just his comments -- it's also that he brings so little else to the show. They should get someone more like Craig to replace him.

That does not mean people should cower in a corner and feel unable to make their feelings heard and felt.

Jason has taken a bad situation re programming nowadays, run with it and gone way too far.

If they feel strongly about a situation people are entitled and even morally bound to stand up for that. It can make a difference. Whether it will only time will tell, but ITV should be challenged. They are not omnipotent.

I agree with Winenroses. Jason Gardiner has gone too far and ITV for some reason known only to themselves are supporting this waste of space. The producer thinks Gardiner is absolutely bloody wonderful and will not act to stop this vicious bully venting his spleen week after week. It makes you wonder where the expression "up your bum" came from. Here is a new take on the expression "lol".

'lol' looks like a man drowning - which Jason Gardiner is - under a barrage of complaints about his spiteful and nasty behaviour. He is not funny, nor witty but has the most vicious tongue which he thinks he has the right to humuliate contestants with. He is a smug, self-satisfied, smirking, dirty bush kangaroo and I hope he hops back to Australia with his tail between his legs and | will not shut up about it until he is gone from our screens. I agree with this. Plus CRH had a personality transplant this year, he was still critical, but not bitingly personal at all. He was great!

For gods sake, get lives and let it go. If not, just go round to the studios with torches and pitchforks and have done with it.

Why? Why should anyone have to put up with crude insults? Why should crude insults be allowed on a family TV show? It just demonstrates a lowering of standards in general.

As the title of this thread suggests, this isn't a proper apology which makes me so cross that ITV say it is! The "apology" I heard him make added an "if" I offended people which completely makes it a non-apology, as it places all the onus on the people that were offended by it, it was their fault for being offended. Then on top of that the ITV adds the word "may" as highlighted above - they know there is no "may" about it, it did and not just the odd few, even Philip and Holly were clearly embarrassed about it at the time.

I do a lot of conflict resolution work and if people are wanting to make an apology we don't let them add the "if" or "may" or "but I wouldn't have ... if you hadn't ...". If they want to do that it's not an apology and won't work as one - it's their choice if that's the case but don't make out it's an apology. Jason had a foot in both camps, wanted to do damage limitation but didn't want to humble himself and admit he'd been rude and he can't have it both ways. Saying what he said doesn't make anyone feel any better that's on the receiving end of it.

Well said : I will never be able to look at : again without thinking they are Gardiner's gravestone teeth. Yes - he should sue. He is so vain he has probably spent thousands on them. With his unshaved chin, the teeth, eyes and shape of his face, when I look at him, I just can't stop adding small ears and long whiskers. Results in a perfect rat.

Craig Revel-Horwood has toned down his remarks, and has always given constructive criticism and whatever I thought of his remarks I always had the utmost respect for his knowledge of his subject. Arlene Phillips knows her subject inside out but she went too far with her remarks and the BBC dropped her from the show. When Anton du Beke made his racist remark off air - he did give an apology, a real apology and actually said he had let himself down and his family and showed genuine contrition and he said it more than once.

This Gardiner creature - complete with his zip and button - looked a bit sheepish at the first boo but then Saint Emma Bunton patted his shoulder as if to say "there, there diddums" and it wasn't long before he was making personal remarks about Sharron being large and wanting to know if Emily had an underbite - not that it is any of his business.

He is damaging the programme - and his judging is out of sync with the rest of the panel which proves he doesn't know what he is talking about.

Wardrobe Department should remove the zip and button from his shirt and graft them to his mouth so he will always be zipped and buttoned.

He's made two comments on his twitter thing over the last 12 hours:

"the booing was OTT and rude tonight. Normally it doesn't bother me but the idiots in the audience made it impossible for me to critique."

"booing after I've commented is fine but before I've said anything is just ignorant and boring."

He just doesn't get it does he? Jason, it's not us who are the idiots and who are ignorant and boring - it's you!

Well the "idiots in the audience" remark just sums him up. He has no respect for anyone - arrogant, ignorant, obnoxious, smirking little weasel.

I wish the audience had booed much louder as I certainly didn't want to hear his "critiques".

I've posted his twitter comments on a new thread because I'm just so amazed that he thinks OTHERS are rude and arrogant.

Far be it from me to defend the "idiots in the audience" (I'd quite happily put them all in a big space shuttle and send them hurtling to the outer reaches of the universe) but I think this just may be a bit of cause and effect Jason. Not that I'd expect you to know anything about that though because, despite your "apology", you clearly don't think you've done anything wrong.
