according to Mel Lambert - which is appearing in tomorrow's 'People'.

http://twitter.com/LambertMel

Anyone else heard anything about this? While no one's perfect, I'm finding it hard to think what horrible things could be said about them.

Poor Mel sounds a little down the last couple of days.

IF they have nothing to hide then they have nothing to fear!

She does doesn't she, her tweets don't seem to be her usual happy self. I struggle to think what that dirt they could drag up on the pro's !

Agreed. On an individual pro, always possible, but as a group? I doubt they have anything to worry about.

Goes to show - talented and beautiful as she is, and married to the gorgeous Fred, even Mel has her down days!

Fred's just posted something similar on his twitter:

"Rumor mill churning: Article in The Sunday People about pro skaters of DOI. None of us have been interviewed. Be prepared to read some lies."

This makes me sad!

We know nothing about their personal lives though, not that Im suggesting theres anything bad but how do we know what goes on behind the scenes?
Could also be the article isnt that bad, until anyone reads it then we dont know whats been said.
Probably a whole lot of fuss about nothing.

Well, the People is the sort of paper that makes a massive fuss over nothing unfortunately...

I hope it turns out to be nothing much. It's not fair to muck rake with anyone, but especially not when its the non-celebs.

It seems quite a few of them aren't having a good week. Brianne is ill at the moment too. This is probably the last thing everyone needs.

It would kill me to buy that paper but I know my nose will mean I probably end up getting it to see what is being said !

Aww. Not sure what that's about but if it's from The People I wouldn't take anything they say as truth anyway. Just a trashy sunday newspaper that has nothing else to write about.

Hopefully it's nothing to worry about, of course whatever it is it can't be nice for the pro's to read.

Read it in the newsagent and leave it back on the shelf.

Hmm, seems peculiar. Maybe it's something about her and/or Fred since she's taking it personally.

Seems odd none of the rest of them are posting anything about it.

Just like every tabloid every day then. A bunch of trash 'journalists' with nothing better to do then upsetting people's lives. And the GBP seemingly love it.

If the People have printed a pack of lies then they have nothing to worry about and they can always sue them....if on the other hand there is some truth in it then someone might be a bit worried about something being exposed!

The only thing I can see on the website relates to David Seaman's wife finally divorcing him over his affair with Frankie... but its dated Jan 31st so out of date already.

Thats public knowledge so no shock there, it sounds as if it may have something to do with Mel, but I can't think what it could be!

Looks as if its just a story about the pro's being annoyed about the lack of recognition and wages. No scandal !! It's the same sort of thing you get about strictly now and again. I do agree they don't get the recognition they deserve and if they new pro's are only getting what they say it is disgraceful.

Yes, and the mention of a supposed 'strike' just before last Sunday's episode, together with some sort of veiled threat that the producers will be 'looking very closely at the Winter Olympics next week for new faces'.

I would imagine that if Matt, Daniel, Mel and Fred had been that unhappy with their contracts, they wouldn't have signed up again this year. They've been around the show for a few years now.

Can't find the article on the People website to link it to here.

Interesting though that a section for the Pro Skaters has now turned up on the DOI website for the first time. Is the article making assumptions because of that, or did it come at the pros' request?

Didn't Heather Mills say that Matt was on £60,000 for the whole series, which contradicts this article's claim that the longer standing pros 'earn around £20,00'.

Will be interesting to see Mel and Fred's responses.

Edit: and Lizzy has linked to the article!

Maria tweeted this this morning. Perhaps she'd not seen the article yet.

Morning all..off to studio!not loooking forward to the nasty article in the people today but can't wait 4 tonite show!keep ya posted 23 minutes ago from UberTwitter

It suggests she was expecting something worse. Maybe the paper were using that old tabloid trick of telling people they are running a story, and they can "give their side" if they like - essentially blackmailing them into giving the story. They hope that someone will break ranks.

If none of them said anything then it turns into a bit of a non-story, especially when Twitter exists and we have Maria talking about how much she's looking forward to the show. Unless it is a massive double-bluff, lol.

I'd like to see more of the pro skaters, but I have to admit I also like that they are not getting caught up in celebrity themselves, which is a sign that they take their day job seriously with that side of thing being left to Chris and Jayne. There must be a happy mix and I think for the show's future, especially if they insist on having so many couples to start with, it will be important to know the skaters better.

I agree with both of these bolded statements.

Although ITV have put the professionals on the website, it really does look like an afterthought, the pictures are rubbish and I still don't understand why they weren't pictured alongside their partners, like they were last year.

Stupid ITV will be lucky if they haven't completely sabotaged the show this year

Oh and as for looking for new faces in the Olympics, I thought that the pros on the show weren't able to do competitions.

I really think this article is a load of tosh.

What does this even mean? ITV make the show that you enjoy, but everything "they" do, someone seems to think is wrong. Maybe it's just a question of getting things in perspective... is it an enjoyable show? Do you like it? Would you have ever heard of any of the skating pros if they hadn't been on it, and have you enjoyed watching them purely as a result of evil, silly ITV making the show?!
What really is the complaint?!
