ipod touch/movies

Hi i have an ipod touch and have downloaded a film that i would like to add to it have tried to drag and drop it but it wont it will play via itunes but wont actually copy it.

Anyone know how i can do it?

If you can play it in iTunes, you may just need to add it to your device.

With it connected, click on your devices, go the the movies tab and tick the box next to it + then sync.

Let us know if that works!

Also as below, if you're planning on doing this with lots of movies, you'll be better to resize them first using a converter.

Hello ..thanks no i had already tried that it does play thru itunes but only via the memory stick if i remove that the file is gone.

I will try the converter thing and report back.

You have to add the video file to Movies, connect the ipod and in its settings set you want to sync the movies, too. Then it may tell you it cannot sync it because. You can use itunes to create ipod-compatible version of the video, but in my experience it's very slow, you are better off with some external converter.

Use Handbrake, its got different profiles for different mediaplayers & Ipods
after the encode just import the file into i-tunes and sync your ipod, its really that simple
