I'd like to make some homemade dog food on a trial basis to see whether it's cheaper and whether she enjoys it. I understand if you use pigs trotters then then mixture will become gelantinous which is something I'd like to achieve because she is quite fussy about her food! I have a fussy labrador who doesn't woof her food down, hates biscuits and only likes food in jelly.

If anybody has any recipes for dog food that I could use as a starter I'd be really grateful. Or know of any websites that too would be useful.

This is what I make for my dog:

Pack 3 lambs hearts
tblspn oil
1 carrot
2 tblspns rice

slice lamb hearts and carrot
fry in oil
add enough water to cover
simmer for 20 mins
add rice
simmer till rice is cooked

This does my terrier two meals.
Any meat or leftovers can be added. Potatoes can be added instead of rice.

It's cheaper but it stinks! Pooooweeee! :vomit:

Edit: have distinct memory of grandmother constantly simmering the organs of some poor old animal..and me honking every time I went to visit!
