You can get phone line installation paid direct to Sky and miss BT Retail out.

you need to go with BT unfortunately, or you can go with the Post Office according to what the guy at SKY said to me last week.

Not according to the T&C's on the card they had sent me out it states and quote "Active BT Line required"

Anyway before they added that to there T&C's, apparently when I phoned SKY up to get a phone line activated twice I was told this on two separate occasions.

1: Managed to get to the part where they get to the line checker but was told that the line checker is currently down and they would call me back, which they didn't.

2: When I phoned last week, the guy I spoke to (Indian call centre even though it was well after 9AM, go figure) I was told I would have to go and have a the phone line activated with BT or the Post Office.

So anyway all in all if your currently wanting a phone line and broadband, check this out BT Winter deals, I signed up for there line rental and BT Total Broadband option 3 and saved on the line connection fee.

Sky can order a line install directly with Openreach, so you don't have to go through BT or the Post Office. It seems the guy you spoke to hasn't read his notes on it. It's been like it since sometime last year.
