Best Hair Dye
HollyG

I am going to go dark today!

I have been blonde now for 6 months and I think I look too washed out - used to be darker.

I had my hair done at the hairdressers the last time and I have not bottle dyed my hair for years.

What do you guys suggest the best hair dye is for home dye?

I want to go this dark and have the shine!! http://poponthepop.com/images/galler...-dark-hair.jpg

I heard garnier netrusse is good?

Or should I just go to my hairdressers?

I have been using Nice n Easy dye which I think are pretty good. If you don't want to take the plunge permanently they also so semi permanent, and also really temporary colours which only last about 12 shampoos.

Thanks lunasea, I do want to go perma though. I am feeling brave!!

Thing is I want it to be dark sometimes when you get a hair dye it turns out totally different to the box and I don't want it to look washed out.

My hair is like this colour and style just now - http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9Zf_P9g6cu...ng-summer2.jpg

Should I buy dark brown or light brown?

Sorry for all the questions but the last time I dyed my hair it was a disaster and I had to pay £150 ish to get it fixed!

A lot of the time I think the end result can be extremely affected by the base colour of your hair, as well as the condition of it etc, damaged or bleached hair "grabs" the colour more than natural good condition hair, so it can be a good idea to apply the colour to any dry or damaged parts last.
As for what colour to go for, perhaps if you went for a lighter shade first you would get a better idea of how the colour takes, and it may come out darker that the box suggests in any case. If, after that you still want to go darker then give it a couple of weeks and choose a darker shade and re dye it.
At the end of the day it is much easier to go darker (in stages) than to go for a dark shade, and it be too dark, as lightening it again would be very tricky.
