Alison is awful.

The vast majority of her work - if not all of it - comes as a result of TV companies trying to include more female presenters from an ethnic background. The fact that she's one of the few people alive that can make Fern Britton look slim doesn't hurt either.

The choice of Alison is completely the pits because it puts the cause of genuinely talented black presenters - of whom there are many - back years.

Presenters are presenters Alison being black should not be an issue. If you don't like her that's one thing, but her colour should not be an issue. You wouldn't say for instance that Richard Madeley has put the cause of genuinely talented white presenters back years would you??

And that's not a fair comparison anyway, because almost all presenters are white. Black presenters still need to be better than average - just to show that they can be. And they can - unless stupid editors hire fools like Alison, of course.

Alison is a presenter whether you like her or not. Her colour should be of no relevance at all. I'm sorry but that sort of attitude is ignorance pure and simple.

I disagree that Alison is awful but you have a right to your opinion.

I also disagree that the choice of Alison is the pits. She has quite a lot of fans out there including myself who find her a joy to watch.
Who cares what size she is. Are you saying that all presenters should be handsome and pretty with 'good' bodies. We live in a world full of all shapes and sizes and whilst it is nice to admire someone on telly for what they look like, it's their personalities and sense of character that come across to me in the end.

No one should be judged on their colour/race for their presentation skills. She certainly does not put the cause of any talented presenter, whether black or white back years.

I certainly hope Alison's career lasts for a long time yet.
