Cos Stacey was on one list of acts appearing but not on another, so I wasn't 100% certain about whether she will be at the gig or not

That gives you an idea of what happens though with stunt casting .You can be cast as a young emerging Cosette to a strong older 20 plus Marius and find yourself next as the older half of a relationship with a 17 year old. They have just had the reverse when a weaker looking Marius was first matched with a younger more vivacious Cosette and then an older looking quieter one. Poor Eponine had to fall in love with people who were mature, immature, strong, weak and older and then younger looking than her character. Add on the understudies and the sense of the relationships changes again. Fine if people only register the music, but difficult to do if they keep on changing the relationship, who likes whom and who wears the trousers.

Thanks as always for your insightful comments. Since it was announced that Lucie is to take on the role of Cosette I've been following the conversation on the "London Cast Change" thread on the Musicals.net forum – http://www.musicals.net/forums/viewt...asc&start=2388 – where the subject of "stunt casting" seems to have triggered a passionate debate in which several of the comments express a view similar to your own regarding the relationships between the various principals. Feelings are so strong that a new thread has even been started under the title "London Cast 2010/2011 http://www.musicals.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=79289 I wonder what more will be revealed in the announcement due to be made by the production team next Wednesday?

lol I've been searching but haven't found any. Emmett is the real wizard when it comes to finding pictures of Lucie – I notice he has posted a link to some of Stacey on her thread, but as he hasn't posted any of Lucie on here I assume there are none as yet

I think Lucie will be alright - she's young and if Alistair Brammer, the current Marius, stays, he was the one picked to work with Katie Hall who was only 18 - he's a year older now so that should fit. If Lucie ends up playing against a 17 year old guest Marus she should find it easier than someone older - at some point people in their 20s would look like cradle snatchers.

I don't post on musicalsnet but there is a big discussion there of what on earth they are thinking of bringing in people for 3 weeks . The context is that the show is very well worked up at the moment and very strong on the acting with a lot of people there for 1-2 years. They are now having a cast change thats taking out some central people and a lot of experience (which is inevitable at some point) at the same time as they seem to be throwing guests in too. Its no wonder people see it as being wrongheaded.

Thanks for the link ilovelucie. Looks like Lucie got stuck in Scotland thanks to EasyJet.

Also there are lots of photos in the Sunday Mirror magazine today of Lucie posing for the High Street Fashion Awards. I will try and get some scans up later.

Thanks, ilovelucie

Another video from the Burns Festival in Ayr on 28 May, Lucie singing Empire State of Mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V9SE1GX1_o&NR=1

Having watched both Fireflies and ESOM, looks as though Lucie enjoyed herself in Ayr

Have fun on Wednesday

Don't know whether or not you've seen them already but here's four videos (uploaded to YT by MeganH79) of Lucie at the Burns Festival in Ayr, 28 May. Some of the videos are sideways on, but I don't suppose that matters if you're watching on your phone – try turning a large computer screen on its side lol

Sweet Child Of Mine – video sideways on (2:54) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuHC3YqKOT4
Taking Chances – video sideways on for first minute, sound quality fluctuates (3:50) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VYahzq_OKE
Fireflies – nice visuals, sound quality fluctuates and sometimes the singalong is louder than Lucie (3:42) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0OX6tmepnI
Don't Stop Believing – video sideways on for 2:30, sound quality pretty good (4:02)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODDHatsonqg
