08005875290 Infuriating message

This BT SMS text automated message has started calling me again.

Ever since we changed from BT 2 years ago we get calls from this number despite being on the telephone preference scheme. I have called BT about it in the past and have been assured that it will never happen again, then after a few months it all starts up again. Entering the number on Google I noticed that many other people have had the same problem.

This guarantees that I would never consider returning to BT. The calls can be several times a day including while we are asleep, which makes them very startling. No-one would ever send a text to my landline and I have never asked for the service.

In this age of sophisticated technology has BT no way of preventing its computers from making nuisance calls?

You can block all texes yourself with BT's automated phone line you can find on their web page

I dialled and "unregistered" some while ago but the calls have resumed. (I had never opted into the service.) This is the 4th spate of unwanted calls. A girl from BT is trying to sort it out now, but she doesn't sound confident.

Hi Maggie48,

I'm sorry that you have started receiving these annoying calls once again. I can help with this. I understand you have already contacted BT and someone is looking at this. If you prefer, drop me an email to btcare@bt.com I can make sure this is sorted.

Please include your telephone number and address. Two years is a long time so I presume you don't remember your BT account details, if you do by chance remember these please drop me them in the email as well, this will help.

Cheers
Sean

A girl from BT has called today about this and has arranged for my details to be removed from the system. I will have to wait a month for it all to percolate through.

Hopefully this will cure the problem, its been so annoying to have to keep phoning about it every few months.

Sean, thank you for your interest.
