Taping Big Brother
Daniel

What tapes of Big Brother have you all got?

I haven't got any tapes of the first three series, but taped nearly all of BB4 - highlights, evictions and live tasks. I haven't decided whether I'm going to keep them or not - I may tape over them with BB5 and hope that it's more interesting!

Hi there.
Do you know if any can be bought or sold-say on Ebay -I never seem to see any-is there a copyright issue-do Endemol actually care?

The official DVD seems well ripped off on the internet.

I have a lot of BB3 only-very Katecentric though.

also do you know what would be the issues involved in showing BB3 again in all its live glory on some minority cable channel.

There! didn't expect homework did you. That will teach you.

I have lots of series two - very entertaining and some of three. I didn't really tape much of series one. Four I hardly taped as it didn't seem worth it at the time.

I like it when you go through the video cabinet to find a blank tape, find an unlabelled one, put it in the player and find it is one with eight hours of live BB taped on it. Invariably I forget whatever it was I wanted to record and sit glued to the old BB recording!!!!

I have all of Series 3 and all of Series 4.

I will be taping over Series 4 when Big Brother 5 begins though

I tended to record the late night live stuff or the 12-7 type period.
Don't think I ever really watched them back unless I heard something good had happened but they're upstairs on a shelf somewhere.

Bet I'll be doing the same thing this year. If you don't watch the live footage you don't know anything.

I was thinking about this the other day. I recorded all the channel 4 shows last year (evictions aswell). I now can't decide whether to do the same this year and if so should I record over BB4.

HMMM Decisions. I agree though the DVD isn't that great (i have the BB3 one). It be much better if they included nominations, eviction interviews etc etc.

I still have the whole of BB3 episodes, plus quite a bit of the live footage too. I did have BB2 and BB4 but they're taped over already...I'll probably tape over the BB3 with BB5.

AFAIK it is definitely against copyright law to sell bootleg home tapings of tv shows (look at end credits, they always end with a copyright notice)... even though I notice there seems quite a lot of this activity going on on ebay....

you could be in big trouble if the copyright owner is alerted (someone recently got arrested for ebaying Live Aid videotapes, for instance) and yes I think Endemol would care.

There shouldn't be a problem with another channel repeating old BB, if they pay for the screening rights from Endemol.

Keeping the highlights of BB4 won't use much tape. Problem is finding it. BB3 could be a lifelong study aided by a little hindsight. If BB5 is like BB4 we may be discussing BB3 here for the next 20 years so don't throw it away.

Dixoms now have recordable DVD which seems not to take up so much room as it records to disks and seems to be editable which VHS isn't practically even with two players - anyone tried it?

We are in the midst of wisdom here. A very wise move RKO Just make sure you dont have any overhangs from the odious BB4 anywhere on the tape!

Well there is always something going on either via satellite or the Internet that is either BB or in the style of BB.
There is currently a French series that is very BB although not BB.
And then there is 'Singel 24/7' from Norway.

Have BB subscriptions for Sweden and Italy. Though the Italian series isn't the same this time around without satellite access plus the feeds are only 1000-1800 !

On the original post I missed the home recordings of the Turkish BB (Non Endemol production) that appeared a couple of Christmas ago on a satellite feed at 42 East FTA Digital. Feed was there for over a week.

Well my TV card records in Windows Media Format which is able to save around 8 - 9 hours per disc - so I have a lot of BB3 saved on CD's

Luckily I lost Sky during Season 4 so i didnt have to watch all the live footage - or I would have probably died of boredom - though I did record the late night channel 4 streams mainly coz Scott was well Fit

I hope I have Sky back for BB5

I have about 100 tapes, Day 28 onwards on BB2, started to realise by then what good viewing Brian was, most of BB3. My Big Brother tapes of BB4 I have mostly taped over.
